I have to admit that I do miss all the distressed clothing of Christophe Decarnin, but it is a new designer. So new aesthetic is a reasonable change. For this season, collection was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's personal jewelery collection. There was brocade, glitzy looks galore. There was not much of a departure from the last few collections, which is true to Balmain. Not much change each season, but enough change to still make the pieces lustful and a bit new.
