@ tookwick4ya,

Is 29 waist your normal waist size for thanaz or thavar?

You know this is such a good question lol cause it varies so much!  In my Thanaz 73J and 71J, 28 waist is perfect, Thanaz 72C 29 waist is HUGE (I would go 27 if I could find one).  In my newer Thanaz 8QP and 8QQ 29 is the waist.  In my Thavars, most of them are 27 waist and a few 28 waist.  I'd say my most natural waist size is 28 but I sometimes go down a size if the waist is huge or I go up a size if the waist is snug or if the legs are too tight and I want more breathing room if I could still have a waist that isn't huge, maybe just a bit loose.

My advice- when you can, always try on! Even pair to pair in the same wash and size can make a difference.  That's what happens when you buy quality jeans with so many innovative techniques going into making them, they just don't all come out the same exact size!

I was afraid of that. I was hoping to get a straight answer. LOL.

Can you tell me the measurement for waist aligned? Thanks.

I'm no tailor or professional measurer lol.  Explain to me how I can measure the waist "aligned", would it be just horizontally across by holding the front and back evenly? Let me know how to make this measurement and I'll do it for you.

Exactly, aligned is when the front and the back are even lying flat.

I'll do it as soon as I can tomorrow sometime!

Well?

Ok here's the pics of my Diesel Black Gold Excess $680 pair as promised!  On the "Fit" pics where I'm wearing them I have the mini scarf in the back pocket which Art has already stated is removable so note that on the flat pictures I took it out so they don't cover anything you want to see on the jeans.  Also on a separate post I will show you the measurement horizontally!

As far as Fit: I have to agree with Art like I stated earlier, they feel like a Thavar or Thanaz kind of fit but not tight in certain areas and loose in other areas.  Just well crafted and very "even" and gradual tapers so your legs can breathe but they still have that fitted look.  Also, I love the wrinkled bottoms which kind of make the jeans look like you're stacking them so you have the stacked look without even trying! The wash and fades as you can see are amazing, it looks like when you go from a regular dull TV to a bold, rich 3D TV, it feels like the jeans are popping out at you with the amazing 3D warp effect, fading details etc.  Comfort level is also amazing, a bit raw on the outside, they feel sturdy and well stitched and still the inside is soft where it doesn't bother or hug your skin in an uncomfortable way.  Overall best pair I've ever owned in every way.  Would've liked more detailed back pockets but that doesn't sway me away!!!

^^LOL ps- the way I was twisting my body to get the rear and side pics was weird so don't mind my awkward posture!

Thank you for posting them in such detail. They look amazing. They completely remind me of a PRPS pair that I got from Nordstorm months back which were the same shade and had some pretty similar whiskering and such stuff on them. I wonder who copied who!

tookwick4ya, what size did you pick for your DBG Excess? like your regular Thanaz or Thavar??

Thanks

I went through a PRPS phase a few years back when their prices were through the roof. I think they copied Diesel on their best washes and then proceeded to get more and more over the top. In the past six months or so, I've seen the brand reappearing and much cheaper. The washes are more down to earth too but I don't like the fit of them anymore. I've got around 10 pairs of PRPS I'm saving for posterity. Sorry for the thread jack.

The pair in the link is much extreme, the one I own is more similar to the Diesel one.

It felt very true to size in comparison to all the jeans I wear in general.  I took a 29 waist which is my most natural size.  I do have most of my Thanaz in 29 waist and a few in 28 waist (the older ones like 73J and 71J).  I have some Thavar in 28 and some in 27, depends on the wash and I feel like Thavar waists are always huge so I hate to go by that when speaking of my natural waist size.  So like I said, it feels true to size from what I experienced!
