IMO, the cotton used in MII is better than non-MII. This is just my thing about diesel jeans and I know most members hear will disagree.

Dieselicious, dude, I need a 30 waist size too! hahah we'll have to fight to gettttt itttt

Hopefully they will have 2 available. Good luck to you.

Also, I recall you own excess, can you tell me how they fit? Will excess 30W be smaller, same or larger than thanaz 30W in the waist and thigh?

I must be the first sucker to buy the DBG jeans from Cultizm. I called the Diesel Black Gold store in New York first to see if they had them. They did, they had my size, and I was quoted $350 for them! I mentioned that they were a lot higher at the German store but that I would take them. He had looked up the price on a packing list, unfortunately when he scanned them for sale they were $680 (!!) more than Cultizm. They would ship free but I would get charged 8.25% tax.

From Cultizm, you subtract the 19% VAT going to the US, then used the Facebook voucher for another 10%, and shipping was free, so "only" $475. I sure hope they're worth it.

I have paid close to that before for some PRPS but we'll just have to see how they turn out. I'm getting a common enough size that if I don't like them I should be able to sell them. The New York employee said they were pretty stiff/raw and true to size, he didn't think they would stretch much.

Cool, can't wait.

Wow this is bullshit. When we buy something from the us we have to pay the full price + us taxes, then 1000 different bullshit taxes when we receive it.

Waiting for pix:D

Amazing service from Cultizm. Ordered online Thursday night late Central time, order was processed and shipped the next day from Germany, they arrived Fedex today!

The tag refers to the Black Gold jeans as Excess NT, Wash 8BT. They are very dark, midweight raw denim. They felt very stiff coming out of the package, but after wearing them around the house for less than an hour, they already feel very comfortable. The cut is most similar to Thanaz, maybe a bit like Thavar. My "usual" Diesel jean size is 32X32 but I have learned that there is definitely some differences in cuts and even in different washes of the same cut. I took a chance and used my Thanaz size 33/32 and they fit absolutely perfectly. Waist is not uncomfortable but could be worn with or without a belt, good stacking length on the legs, and most importantly slim fitting but not too tight anywhere down the leg. They came with the bandana in the back pocket, the regular DBG sales tags, and a long zippered bag which I guess is intended to carry them in. The back patch is numbered, I got #187 of 500.

First the pictures of the jeans front/back and with the bag.

And now some darkish fit pics. I'll take some more tomorrow in better light when I decide what to wear with them.

artnew, very cool !!!

those dbg are awesome. since they're raw i think it'd be really interesting to see what they look like in a year. i gotta admit tho. that long bag is fucking funny! do they expect someone to fold them longways and carry that across their back when they travel or something? haha

Okay a couple more pictures and I'm done. Wore the DBG's to work today and they're amongst the most comfortable jeans I've ever had. As stated they are very similar in cut to Thanaz but seem more "balanced" as in they are not good in one place, too tight in another, etc. In brighter lighting, they have lots of subtle variations in shading and coloring, I included one outdoor pic to try to show that. I chose black shirt/shoes today but think they will also go nicely with something more colorfol and more contrasting in the future. The price is high...but...as I'm sure we've all noticed Diesel jeans in general have been creeping up in price a lot the last year or two. Almost all of the "good" washes we all love are $250+ now. The 75G's and DBG's I just bought a few weeks ago were $295 and $340 respectively so $475 didn't seem that outrageous. I think they're worth it.

on average i spend  about $350-400 used. i spend about $450-$550 new. your best bet is to get them used from supermarket.superfuture.com -- search for dior and a ton of listings come up.   also websites like luisaviaroma.com or farfetch.com or railso.com or brownsfashion.com -- you can also go to dior homme boutiques in nyc or la.   -----oh and ebay of course

I just bought these, the $680 Excess dark Diesel pair.  They are one of the most excellently crafted jeans I've ever had.  Pure Japanese denim, a bit raw and nice feeling on the outside but soft and comfortable on the inside.  They fit so well.  I totally agree with your other post in that they fit like a Thanaz but not good somewhere and too tight elsewhere.  They just fit like a great pair of slim fitting jeans.  I took a size 29 waist even though most of my Diesel are size 28 and it fits perfect.  Bought it from the New Diesel Black Gold Store in Soho aka the Greene Street store.  Amazing stuff! I'll post pics soon :)

PS- I still think they look a lot like Thanaz 74K Baltimore, but they feel and fit a lot better so I'm going to pass on those 74K at this point.  Not to mention they were $680 so I'm not going to get something similar to my $680 jeans because I can't get any better than that!

Hopefully you got a discount. Compared to the price I got from Cultizm, buying from NY with tax would have cost me almost $300 more, Yikes!
They are very special and worth a premium price, post some pics so we can see what minor variations there might be from my pair.

Dude, these jeans are 100 times better than 74k. artnuvo's last pic is just sick! So forget about 74k :P

Wow, those Japanese site prices are HIGH! $867 in USD for the DBG's. They've also got the other pair of DBG's I just bought for $340 for $491!

BTW, those are good pictures of the Excess's.
