it is very expensive but so beautiful, I hesitate to buy it for the winter

I love it. You can't beat a good leather jacket. They're a classic and you'll always get a lot wear out of it. I have a scotch and soda one that's similar in style and I didn't think I'd get the wear out if it and it was expensive but I was wrong and I wear it a lot so I say go for it!

I wouldn't pay $800 for an A&F jacket if I were you.  Their leather jackets are one of the things they don't do a terrible job on, but they're not worth $800.  For that much, you could find something quite nice on eBay, so I would say to save your money and look elsewhere.

Yeah my scotch and soda one was only €250 and it's just as nice. Also try the revolution Canada brown leather jacket available on genius.ie. Save yourself some money and shop around.
