How many jeans do you own?

haha, I can't count right now since I'm staying with my parents for a couple more days and my jeans are mostly at school, but I'd estimate I have 30-35 pairs of PD...counting all the skirts/trousers/shorts etc. I'm pretty good about selling off what I don't wear, so my collection hasn't gotten out of control...yet. lol

Well I am a man but I surpass most women. There are still many women that have me beat though. I owned 49 pairs until I heard the news about rock and republic going to khols for $39 each pair. Then I sold all of my rocks(19 pairs). That brought me down to 30 pairs. I have since replaced 7 pairs with Diesels so I am up to 37 pairs at the moment.

still too much for me. my closet is overfilled.

problem is, I can't let them jeans go, even if I don't wear them anymore. there's always the thought that I can use a pair later or let it be taken in by a tailor.

Just recently I took a bunch of jeans to be sold at a consignment shop. I used to have 20 pairs of jeans, all in good condition because I rotated them properly. I decided I only needed 5 and traded the rest. I feel like much less of a hoarder now.

Yeah I rotate my jeans, too. In fact thats how I decide what I'm wearing each day. I just take the next pair of jeans in line and match a shirt and shoes to it. This keeps all my jeans looking brand new

^Dude, how did you sell all your R&Rs so quickly? I'm trying to get rid of many of mine (not my own pairs, but ones I had bought to resell) and they are not budging. To make things worse, I had a pair that an in-person buyer had promised to purchase next time I was in town (couldn't get PP to work on her blackberry...not sure if that was her fault or PP's fault) and I had already pulled the listing off Ebay, but we haven't managed to meet up yet and I'm leaving tomorrow. Ugh.

I've cut down a fair amount since I bought my Diesel Turbodenims 6 months ago (I wear that one pair about 4 times a week on average, so I don't have that many days to wear anything else).  Other than that, I have another 4 pairs of Diesels and 4 pairs of Dsquared2s right now, so I just have 9 total right now.  That being said, I just added it up and apparently I spent about $2300 for those 9 pairs, so I guess it's still a decent collection $wise.  haha...

Well I listed all of mine the very first day that the news broke on April 28th. Not many people knew at that point and ebay wasn't flooded with them yet. I had some that I was never even able to give any wear. I only kept my Stoneys and my Oxycotins. For some reason I thought that I really would like to keep those two classics. Noone would mistake those beautiful jeans for Khols brand I hope. Your best bet is to list the rocks at 5 day auction at whatever you would take for a best offer and then have the BIN at what you would take for a BIN. The reason I say that is because most people just search by time ending soonest and some people like to bid on auctions more than select a BIN. So if you have a pair of jeans on a 30 day BIN it wont even get some of the attention that a 5 day auction would. That is how i listed all of mine. I ended up selling all of the RR I was getting rid of PLUS my wife's rock's within 2 auction cycles. I dont know how well this would work now but you could try it.

I bought my turbodenims about 45 days ago and I have not been wearing them out a lot. I wear them around the house all day and then when I leave I put on a different pair of Diesels. I am getting them nice and worn in before I wear them out. I guess I really just dont like the idea of only wearing one pair of jeans all of the time. I would feel like I was neglecting the rest of my collection. I am so new to Diesel that most of my Diesels have only been worn twice(some have been worn 6 times which means I have been wearing Diesels for about 7 months now). So I couldnt imagine not wearing them because of my turbodenim.

actually I've been back from the tailor: two pairs of ROs taken in and a shirt and a suit.

I'm the best client of my tailor.

I've also got my Trouleg 89W back from making them straight-leg. I like the stacks.

It's better for the budget to take in a nice wash than buying a new one. buying and selling always makes me loose money. I hate that.

I've just gotten to my 14th Diesel jeans, a 8W7_Stretch Zatiny. After I started collecting these, way back in '07, I donated all my other jeans.

Curiously, after 14 pairs, I still don't have a single Thanaz, everyone's favorite. I guess I've never been luck enough while visiting Diesel stores.

hmm, I just might! I've kept the 30 day BINs just because all these pairs have several (5-6) watchers on each, and to create a new listing would be to lose all those watchers. I might just list with the free auction + BIN alongside those and take the risk of having duplicates (one of those pairs is in a 4-pair lot with some other oddly sized pairs that have been slow to sell, probably because of the sizing)

I thought about how much I hate losing the watchers too. But then I decided to go for it because ebay sends the watchers an email every time something is relisted. So if you end the BIN and then relist as auction then ebay will send those watchers out an email that an item they have been watching has been relisted. I have purchased several pairs this way. I would be watching something that was just a little too high for me and then when I got the email saying it was relisted the item was priced lower so I bought it.

That was a very smart business move, selling off the Rock & Republics  Although the Kohl's deal won't happen until next year, it will definitely lose value.  Since most people don't know about the deal it should be very easy to sell them for a decent price.  I am in a business where we sell Designer Jeans at home parties for up to 50% off the retail price and Rock & Republic sells fast!

I'm pretty sure the R&R jeans that will be sold at Kohls will not be comparable to past/current styles.....

I don't think the line will hurt resale. William Rast resale is still as shitty as it was before the Target line. 

lol, anyone want to sell about 200 diesels for me? lol i dont have time in the world for that. and they are all sitting nicely folded getting rarer and rarer :) 

well if you're serious I will if you take the pics and give me a percentage. I can sell them on ebay, once I am paid by the buyer I can pay you your percentage via paypal and then after that you can ship them out.

I own 12 pairs of jeans (I'm a 56 year old bloke, by the way) mostly Joe Browns., but also a few French Connection, and (gulp) one pair of Primark... for Gardening!  Ha Ha

What are Joe Browns and Primark? I dont think we have those in America

I'm a guy and I own at least 35 pairs of jeans and  around 2008 I had around 60. This was when all the brands (Diesel , TRL, R&R 7 FAm) were in their heyday. As those brands died out so did my collection. Now I'm just down to the basics, lots of Sevens, APC's and some Diesels.  Rock and Republic at Khols....is this what it's come down to? no wonder I can't fetch $140 for them like the good old days. Thank god you guys put me on , I would never shop at Khols becuase Walmart is my place for killer deals.

Yeah they will be there next spring. That is why I am sticking with Diesels. I have some Nudies and TR too. But Diesel is going to be my big thing now. No worries about it going down in value. I like to be able to resell my jeans at a decent price.
