FAKE seven for all mankind IN STORES!

yesterday I called a famous jean store in Rome that (I supposed) selled a lot of diesel jeans, and asked if they sold seven for all mankind jeans. they told me they did get some models because everyone is asking for them. I wen there immediately to try them on. I got every model and SURPRISE, the tags were TOTALLY DIFFERENT form the ones on Bianca's or Dave's webisite. One of them had "seven" "7" written on it but not "for all mankind"! ALL of them didn't have the tag with serial or model number. The only label they had indicated the size. That's it.
Have you ever heard of SFAM jeans like the ones I described? With only a size label?
Is this possibile? FAKE jeans in a famous jean store? Unbelievable!
My bfriend said I should have protested and told the store owner they were fake, but I didn't because I wasn't ABSOLUTELY sure they were fake.
What do you think?
Now I'm not sure the rest of their jeans are authentic, and people come from all over europe to that store to buy jeans!

They might (?) have been 7 sevens, a type of jean made by express:

Of course they could have also been counterfeit sevens.

unfortunately i've seen fakes in reputable stores as well. i have been to two nordstroms and one bloomingdales that had a pair of fake diesel zathan 772s. it seems that the employees don't really know the difference between what is fake and what is real. probably someone who had a fake returned them for a refund, because i doubt that those stores would intentionally sell them.

blm14 is correct, these were "Seven 7" jeans by "Express". Those jeans don't have a style number oder a cut number, even though they look very similar to Seven for all Mankind jeans. Unfortunately too many people confuse these two brands ...

gospastic, I'm afraid you're correct, too. There ARE people who exchange fake pairs for authentic ones, and the store assistants don't even realize it. People who work at those stores should be trained in spotting fakes ...

I also agree. I work at Nordstroms and although I have never seen a fake one in my store, I have heard many stories from other Nordys tbd. The department, TBD, is the only place you can return 7 jeans because they know more about it. I just ordered 2 pairs of 7's from nordstroms.com: the pink stitch and the black jeans. I cant wait to get them!

Im just curious...if you return 7s to nordstrom you have to take them to a certain department that checks them over??
