Diesel vs Dior Homme question

Dior is more about the fit than anything, while Diesel is more about wash applications.  Both have used some crappier denim over the years, but at least compared to the majority of Diesel's mainline collection Dior typically uses better quality denim overall.  Now compared to DDG, that might be a different story and many Japanese denim manufacturers are definitely a better quality than Dior..  it comes down to how much you are willing to pay for that increased quality relative to another option and how much certain fits matter to you.

at first, if u have some curious about Dior,

 i recommend u buying raw(at first) on eBay on searching cheaper price than DIESEL.

 i've got MIJ raw $100.

 

then, u can find why we wear both.

 each item has each personality we like.

and remember that Diesel is NOT (never been and never will be) a high-end brand (not taking in account DBG line, which anyways is difficult to consider as high end, IMO)

 

while Dior Homme is

and they have some great washes, more understated and elegant that Diesel (atm, at leat)

and the cut is unique

 

and then, of course, yeah, there's the hype..

 

 

btw, even if I love diors and have a bunch of pairs, I've never spent more than 180/190 euros for a pair

Just go to Dior shop, try some pairs and cuts on. Come back to this thread, read it again and send request to mods you want to delete it. ;-)

 

 

 

Seriously, there were / are some washes and cut combos, I would pay 400 bucks for Diesel, but they weren't / aren't released in last few seasons (with exclusions of course).

From older e.g. Thanaz 71B, DDG line, 8AA etc.

 

Also there are some restrictions in Diesel washes (IMO one of the best) they are released only as fashion pants in one inseam and I need L34 in Thanaz. Speaking about Thanaz 17F, RAWs, 41L (I guess the grey wash). So all of mentioned washes don't work on me (or I just re-sold them).

dior is all about the fit especially if you are a fan of slim/skinny fit jeans.. for the washes, diesel has more option than dior.. 

I'm a noob so I have a hard time understanding 'fit'. Since people have different body type I would think fit has more to do with the person and not the jeans. No? For example of I buy super large Dior jeans they will fit poorly than a diesel that's in my correct size.

in this case, 'fit' refers to the actual patterns from which the pants are made. think of this as 'shape'.

Autodafe is exactly right. The same way Thavars, Safados, Zatinys, etc are all different cuts from Diesel regardless of sizing, Dior Homme will be different too.
