I need help for Seven for all ManKind's Jean size.

I usually wear size 30x30 for all my jean from Banana Republic.
I want to try to buy a pair of Seven Jean but for some reason there's only size 30 when i check it out on eLuxury.com.
What does size 30 really means? Is it 30x30 or 30x31, 30x32. IF these jeans come in only 30x32 i was wondering if i could bring them to Northstrom to have them tailor at a cost. This is my first time trying some different Jeans so please excuse all the "newbie" questions. Much appreciated.

For the most part, all of the seven I've tried on or own (I own two pairs, and have tried on many others) always have a 34 inseam minimum. I've found this to be the case with True Religion, PDC also. I think they probably hedge their bets & just make everything long. I guess they figure if you can spend $200 on jeans you can spend $15 on getting them hemmed up a few inches. Given that I am a 34-35 inseam, I am wholeheartedly for this method.

Most all of eLuxurys jeans, aside from being ridiculously overpriced, have a 34" inseam. It says so in the description on the left. Major companies usually deter from varying inseams, so they can make a uniform product for less money, and just have a longer inseam so people can hem them down. I would reccomend Diesels over Sevens though. Heh, well I guess I'd recommend anything over Sevens... if you're a guy that is.

Another thing I don't like about that is that 4 inches is a lot to hem down. You really are compromising a lot of the jean's bottom qualities when you cut off this much. For example, you could be slimming the bootcut, cutting off part of the wash of the jeans, or, in the case of Diesels, cutting off a unique-type hem. Also, when the inseam is 4" longer, you might face other problems as well, such as tapered knee doesn't fit in right place, etc. That's why I like Diesels... they do make size 30x30 (which is what I wear also, btw, and I know it's like IMPOSSIBLE to find good jeans in this size.)

Thank you for the input. I'll keep all this in mind. One of my friend just got a pair of 7 jean at Nordstrom and he had to pay $12.00 for the alteration with the original hem still intact (i dont know how they do it...). But i think i'll try on with the Diesel jean. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yea, I heard they could alter it with the original hem intact... I don't know how they do it either. I would be interested though, since I do need some alterations on the new True Religions I bought. There are no Nordstorms around here... I wonder if any tailor would be able to do this...

I picked the altered 7 jean up for him and it looks just like the original only with the perfect fit. I don't really like to hand over the really expensive jean to someone for alteration without any guarantee.

I did some research.. hemming with the original hem is called a "European Hem". What they do is basically cut off the original hem, shorten it to your desired length, and sew the original back on, so that it looks like it was never altered. Any qualified tailor can do this.

Hi, this is slightly OT for greenapple's post, but not really... I need help with seven jean size but not for the inseam...

I am a european size 44.

Yesterday I tried on (probably fake) seven jeans, model is boot cut stretch, and the 29 fits me fine.

Now, which "A pocket" size am I? Is it true I have to go up one size from the boot cut model? Will the size 30 fit me fine?
