Mens or Womens Version

I just received a pair of Joey TR jeans as a gift, but for some reason I think that they are a women’s pair & not a men’s pair. The waist fits but a little lower than usually but something doesn't seem right...I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure...BTW the patch in the back is small, which I think is a characteristic of a women's pair.

I would appreciate help on this...Thanks in advance.
