Once you go straight, do you ever return to bootcut?

In the last few months I've virtually sold all my bootcut jeans. There was a time when I'd wear nothing but bootcuts (Zathan's). But now after getting used to slimmer/tapered jeans I just can't wear bootcuts anymore.

If I do, all the loose material around the shin just doesn't feel good. Anyone else been converted like this?

i also began with viker etc...but after wearing slammer and thanaz i only wear slimmer cuts.

I can ONLY wear Zathans in 32/34. Everything tighter at the bottom makes me feel look funny.

I'm gonna try Zatiny next time though.

Trouleg would be an exception for me

I still do mild boot-cuts every now & then.
I have couple of Zathan/Shazor/Koffha (narrowed 1~1.5") & Zatiny that I rotate w/ Slammer/Safados.
I have curvier body (large thighs & rear end). So slimmer cuts like Thanaz doesn't look good on me.

I would have to say it is a natural progression to go from bootcut to straight especially if you are on this forum often In reality, the trend shifting to a straight leg fit has probably impacted our judgement as well. If your body type works with a slim-straight fit I'm sure you'll perpetually find yourself in slimmer and slimmer jeans.

nope, i wear regular, regular slim, and slim cuts, but most of my jeans are slim

I only like bootcuts if they have a "SLIGHT" bootcut not much like leg opening of 9 max

It's so funny you bring this up. the other day I was eagerly planning to wear my Zathans in 72D because they were a bit small and I lost some weight. Anyway, I finally got my ass in them and they looked bad. I read a post by someone here that said my bootcuts made me feel girly. Well now I know what he meant by that. I think the only solution is to have them altered a bit to a Zatiny and I'm going to make my tailor rich because most of my jeans are bootcut. Is this really the end of the epic bootcut era?

I've been thru the whole move to straight go back to bootcut scenario. I tend to wear both now - find if you don't wear one or the other for a while it feels weird when you do put them on.

Some people suit bootcuts better. I'm like slimjim - big ass and thighs! It's all fair and well wearing what is "in" but sometimes certain styles just look better on people. It's been zathan's 'last season ' since the day I first came on this forum years ago!

About the only time I'll wear Zatinys is when I'm doing a casual t-shirt and sneakers day. Zathans are completely out, except sometimes I'll do 71J or T08 for sentimental reasons.

Trouleg is different - and is still my go-to cut.

All of my other straight or tapered-leg jeans are part of a totally different aesthetic, so they're more like stand-ins for my non-Trouleg days than replacements. I just go for different looks depending on my mood.

Just like me, now i just wear my viker rarely since ive got into more tapered jeans like the slamer they are just more comfortable.

For now i dont really like bootcut but maybe one day i will return to my old love.

I was never into bootcuts that much
I used to wear fankers some years ago and some random pairs (I remember a couple of pairs from Juicy Couture Men, could be Iggy and Morgasm)
but the rest was straight leg (and I went slimmer and slimmer as time passed by)

it's difficult for me to wear bootcuts atm, I don't feel the silhouette anymore...
when I wear them I don't feel comfortable, I feel something is not right
but I'd give a try on trouleg, just in case...
even if I don't think I'd cop

bootcut < straight > tapered

Funny because right now I'm:

bootcut > straight < tapered

I only wear bootcuts. Zafs and Koffhas.

I used to wear Zathans when I first started buying Diesels. In fact, all I ever bought was Zathans. Nowadays I only wear Zatinys and Thanaz.

Still wear that bootcut occasionally. Actually I rotate between tapered, straight, bootcut =_=

Might as well have some variety in your closet, otherwise your selection would be as dull as A&F...

I actually wore straight cuts and tapered before getting inti boocuts- was wearing starko, reslim, onijo, viker when the zathan craze was in full force. it wasnt until I came across washes like 72L, 8TL, 72D and 73H in zathan/zatiny that I started wearing bootcuts when the movement was at its end.

My slammers & thanaz will always be most prevalent in my rotation, but nothing wrong with mixing in the boots as well- I am strongly considering altering my zathans to a more zatiny cut though, they do have a pronounced bootcut..

same case here...since I wear more straight slim cuts, the Zathan's "flare" is more and more irritating (Zatiny are at the limit of acceptable bootcut right now).

^ Same here. Somtimes I even feel like my Zatinys need to tone it down by a .25" or so.

Agree with the last 2 comments. I could never go back to Zathan's, they're more like Flares. I have a pai of Zatiny and 2 pairs of trouleg. The Zatiny bootcut is on the limit.

I can live with the trouleg because the leg length is so long and the bootcut start low so all the loose material is lost in the stacking.

i wear a mixture atm i refuse to give up on my x ros and zathan 764 and 772 then i wear a variety of straights vikers timmen slammer and yariks-if i'm going out i wear either safado or trouleg i don't think you could have a balanced wardrobe by excluding a fit be it either tapered or boot as their are occasions which demands it-for example i would look like the biggest ass clown if i rocked up to my aunite's christmas barbeque sporting slammers but it's perfectly acceptable to wear a pair of zathan beaters
