They are not the same. The thanaz is lighter than the shioners, more grey than black, the shioners are darker like a faded black. the thanaz are thicker and have a thicker coating, they look more like leather. the shioner are thinner, and less coated. and of course the fit is different as well, i find shioner much tighter.
