Please help me with these jeans!! Labelled bootcut, but straight leg, def. genuine.

Hi, I am currently selling about 15 of famk jeans, all genuine, purchased by myself from either Selfridges in the UK or Shopbop online.
I have one pair which really have me confused though. Most of my famks are bootcut with a couple of rockers, but I have one pair which are labelled bootcut, but are way narrower in the leg.
I've attached some pics to illustrate. One shows them on top of a regular pair of bootcuts, to show the difference. Were the bootcuts ever made narrower? These fit more like a straight leg/skinny. I distinctly remember when I got them I was told they were a straight/skinny leg, but the inside pocket states bootcut.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, am not sure how to list them!
the style # U075080U - 080U Cut # 707799

Odd...in the first couple pics they definitely resemble straights, but in the last picture they just look like slim bootcuts to me. What's the measurement across the knee and the leg opening? That will tell you for sure. I can relate to your confusion because my calves are so large that straights look like skinnies and some bootcuts look like straights on me!

Hi, thanks for your reply. They are a totally different fit to all the bootcuts I have and I never noticed they said bootcut on the pocket lining until I decided to sell them tonight! I just assumed they were a straight leg style. A few years back when I got them, they seemed pretty skinny compared to all the bootcuts that were around! They are approx 6 1/2" at knee and leg opening too.

look like bootcuts

Maybe they had been altered before you bought them...

Hi, they were brand new from Selfridges, I remember there was a whole pile the same, so definitely not altered, all original stitching.
Is there a narrow bootcut style? They are a good two inches narrower at the leg opening than all my other bootcut famks.

Then it must be some kind of manufacturing fault I guess... 7FAM doesn't have a style that is called slim bootcut. According to the style number they are (regular) bootcut -> U075.

thanks for your replies. I'll post a picture of them on later, they look exactly like the straight legs which are on the for all mankind website.

I think it also has to do with the fabric. Those look like they are the thinner more stretch feel fabric content. Both my gf and sister had pairs like that and they eventually had to cut a slit in the leg to give flare. This was about 5-6 years ago when straight/slim was not cool "again".

they look altered to me.. possibly alteredand returned?? check out the hems on the 2nd pic. stitching doesn't appear to match up IMO

Hmm, it is so odd, have been thinking about it all day! They are definitely not altered, I tried on 3 or 4 pairs all the same cut from the same pile on the same day from Selfridges, the sales assistant said they were a new straight cut (3 ish years ago) I never noticed the style or code until I decided to sell my whole collection. After my little girl has gone to bed I'll put them on and post a picture, they are nothing like the bootcut fit, from the knee down they are straight, 6 1/2" measured flat.

They definitely look like straights to me and if the leg opening is 6 1/2 that verifies it. Must be some kind of error like Tweetybird said.

Hi again, here is a picture of me wearing them and another picture of them on top of another bootcut pair, same size f.a.m.k (27) although obviously longer length (xl). They are completely different fit from the knee down.
Only really bothered as I wanted to sell them and I have no idea what to list them as!

Hi, I think they look just like the straights that i saw on the famk website-definitely 6 1/2 all the way from the knee.
I think I'm going to have to keep this pair, shame as they are too short, I don't think I can sell them as straights with a bootcut label, can I?

I don't see why you couldn't. As long as you describe them well and list all the actual measurements (+ leg opening etc.) there is no problem at all. You can explain in your listing that they are supposed to be bootcuts but fit like straight legs...

Thanks, maybe I'll list them then, they're my last pair, all the other are listed! I kind of thought it would look suspect, like they were fakes. Maybe I'll list as straights and explain in the details of the listing.
Is it quite comon to have errors like this with labels? This forum is brilliant, thanks to everyone for advice
