R&R Sample Sale May 1-3!!!! - Page 4

Just been down to Sony studios so I know where to go and park etc tomorrow. I'm hoping the security guard there doesn't know what he is talking about. He told me the sale started TODAY and it opens again tomorrow at 11am!! I really hope he is wrong. I don't want to be queuing from the crack of dawn till 11am!

The sale did actually start today but only for the friends and family who work at rock & republic. If you see people walking straight to the door, then they have the code word to avoid the lines. I'll take lots of pics.

Here's pics! Not much of a line, lots of stock. Make sure you pay cash to avoid the 9.85% sales tax. I bought the 26 with the leather & patent leather R&R on the table. YAY! Sorry about the dirty lens, kids must have been playing with the camera.

actually, organization wasn't like that initially. it became more like the photos about 30 min into the melee. two hours later, it was hopeless as i was repeatedly finding the same pairs i discovered way earlier at the bottom of the pile.

it WAS exciting, though, especially getting to meet the other HFers (and some AFers)! my catch wasn't as ginormous as others, but i'd say not bad for a first time.

Antolette was right - it WAS a mix of older and newer designs. mostly new, but alot of older ones. scored 3 pairs myself (will post after the weekend), so it was worth the drive for sures.

example of some older designs: some lucky bloke found TWO pairs of Floyd SELENIUMS in 31 and 32. i had to resist lifting a pair off his shoulder or scheming to "bump" into him. bastard.

I've been to the last 4 sample sales now all at Sony Studios, this one was very nice. Each time they keep adding new stuff (this time a lot of Rock Racing outfits & gear)

Doubt any of you saw me, but definitely a very, very good sale this time

No...lol...that's actually Denise (dtoy) and Cyn is on the right

Believe me...you would love it in there. Every time I go, I want to buy everything!!!!!!!!!

For those who spent the night, where did people stay? I saw a couple cheap hotels on google. If they do have on in November and I can make it then I'd probably get there on Thursday and stay through Sunday since I've never been to Cali before

Most people stayed near the airport. If you book through priceline.con you and get a room for $40 or less. I stayed at the Renaissance Mariot and Adelyn stayed at the Four Points Sheraton.

Yea I just checked online and right now a Thursday through Sunday trip to LA would be less than $500 not including the car rental which isn't that bad although I'm going to hit with underage fees when renting a car

I've never been to Cali so I would want to rent a car so I can explore a little bit, maybe find some interesting places to take pictures
