Fading: APC vs. Nudie

I'm looking into getting my first pair of dry denim and am deciding between a pair of APC new Standards vs. a pair of Nudies, probably slim jim or regular alf. I was wondering witch one fades faster and which one fades "better". It seems like most people here seem to be partial to APC, but i've seem some really sexy nudie fades. For example The Lorax's.

I like my jeans to fit slim not tight (not unlike how lorax is wearing them) so I'd probably only size down 1 for APCs and I think that might take away crotch blowout worry with nudies?

My eyes tell me the mid tones are blown out in that picture. Notice the lack of detail on any light surface. The flash fired and the contrast will not be representative of the jeans.

BUT, your question! APCs generally fade pretty fricken' amazingly . I would suggest you go with APCs over nudies for fading potential. For nudies, it dpeends what pair you get, fading potential has a lot to do with material and dye, for example, broken twill will fade like crap in comparison to some heavier material ones

After a month of full wear (minus a few days) my A.P.C's are really coming along good. Wallet fade is becoming noticable, whiskering around crotch is fading, honeycombs fading, and around the knee area it is fading. I have found them to fade faster than my buddies Nudies, and he has had them for 2-4 more months than I have.

My APC's faded better than my Nudies.
But I agree with Anthony, the fade on Nudies really depends on which denim your getting.

if you are buying raw denim only to speed up fades what's the point?

The point is, having a faded/worn(-in)/distressed pair of jeans, where the fades/distressings are at the right place, i.e. the jeans reflect your wear and have moulded only to your body. The result is a personalised jeans not a mass producted one.

But if you are trying to rush it - just buy a pair of "mass produced"

It is not that I wish to rush it, but for my first pair I do not want for it to take in excess of 12 months for me to decide if I like the way in which a pair fades. I've seen many many pictures of faded nudies but most of the pictures I've seen of APC only seem to have mild fading -- so I wondered if there was a vast difference or if i only noticed this due to the pictures I happened to see.

It depends how 'hard' you wear them. That makes the all the difference. The thing you should be looking for is a perfect fit.

I own a pair of thin finn dry stretch and a pair of new cures.
I wouldn't really say that apc's fade a lot nicer... just a lot faster. I'm also not a huge fan on the back pocket location on the new cures which are too high for me. If I were you, I'd pick which fit i'd like better and go with that one because both jeans fade well.
