The etro appreciation thread

Etro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Etro is an italian company known for their extremely unique and colorful high-quality textiles. I am especially drawn to the fact that they sell very conservative types of clothing (suits, dress shirts, argyle sweaters) with unusual details. I've seen suits which are basic black pinstripe but have bright paisley colored liners which are only visible when the jacket is taken off...

I have several etro pieces. It's kind of hard to pair their shirts with their ties, but I do own both. One of my favorite shirts ever is an etro that I picked up about 5 years ago at the barneys NYC warehouse sale. They are not cheap (ordinarily shirts cost $250-$400), but deals can be found on ebay and elsewhere. Their designs are like nothing else!

I can post some more pix of the things i have if people want...

this little tag is under the bottom two buttons, so you cannot see it unless the shirt is undone.

Here's a good example of their suit designs. Conservative on the outside and party in the liner:

etro is great, cheers ben.

I own several of the women's collared shirts and the fit is excellent.

I like Etro for their bold prints and patterns, but not yet own any pieces.

I need to try some Etro stuff on. Didn't care for their stuff at first, but I've grown fond.

Isn't Etro run by an ex-prada designer?

I got an excellent deal on one of the Etro classic paisley shirts at Avedon in Beverly Hills. $100 w/ alterations!

I love it!

Etro cosmetic cases are available for >$12 at JomaShop, too.

I have three Etro button-up shirts, the designs are amazing but they fit kind of weird.
