Please be sure to help out new members. We were all newbies once. Show them the ropes
Help people dress better!
We like seeing positive comments that encourage people about what they are wearing. If you have suggestions that could help a person out please be sure to phrase it in a smart way. Something like "Maybe you might want to try to size down a bit, it might look better on you."
Behind every screen name there is a real human being. Please always remember this and be respectful of people. We especially expect veteran members to be kind to newbies. You were all new once, try and take it easy as some questions asked by new members will seem quite basic to older ones who know the ropes.
We also specifically encourage respect towards women, homosexuals, and minorities. We have seen some pretty disrespectful things posted here over the years and we don't have much tolerance for hateful speech. We will remove people who are hateful and disrespectful from our community.
Respect
Honest Forum expects that every member will be respected by fellow members. We especially expect veteran members to be kind to newbies. You were all new once, try and take it easy as some quesitons asked by new members will seem quite basic to older ones who know the ropes.
HonestForum will not tolerate the following:
* Spamming
Any member that spams in any way shape or form will be banned without warning. We will not tolerate spammers here.
* Excessively Vulgar language
If every second word out of your mouth is an expletive, you will be asked to tone it down. Otherwise, members will only be contacted/warned if its reported as offensive by another member.
* Negative attitudes and extremely disrespectful posts
Particularly those in regards to body shape or image.
* Threats of violence
If you threaten to hurt a fellow member, in either pms or on the board you will be instantly banned for a minimum of 1 week. If you repeatedly come after a member you will be removed entirely with no chance of coming back.
You dont have to agree with someone who posts in clothing you dont like, you can even say things like "That looks terrible" , " I hate that" ect. But no personal attacks will be tolerated.
Moderators will not censor or edit posts containing disrespect (however nudity or extreme graphic acts will be removed no questions asked), but disciplinary action will be taken as follows:
1st Strike – Infraction
2nd Strike – Temporary Ban (1-7 days)
3rd Strike – Temporary or Permanent Ban
*duration at Moderator discretion*
Now obviously this is all relative of time. If the last time you got warned was a year ago, we will obviously cut you some slack.
The duration of the ban in extreme cases will be based on the nature of the disrespect. Swearing at someone is one thing, but being rascist, homophobic ect WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
Report abusive behavior and attacks
As offensiveness is relative, we ask that “targets” of disrespect please make use of the Report Post button to make moderators aware of disrespect. Moderators will take no action unless specifically asked to or, in extreme cases, at their sole discretion.
“Flamebait” topics, such as abortion, politics, and so on will be allowed in the “Chat” section only and will only be allowed so long as participants remain respectful of one another.
Any such threads that do not follow this guideline (or begin to go haywire) will promptly be moved to the “Drama” section. If responses in that post begin to get out of line and in turn get reported to us, we will not delete the thread, we will however lock it.
Multiple User IDs
One ID per user please, no exceptions. If you are found to have more then one by proof of an ip check, you will be banned and never allowed to return NO EXCEPTIONS
Avatars
Avatars can be a maximum of 150 pixels wide. Please keep avatars respectable
Signatures
Honest Forum has a few simple guidelines for signatures
* One line maximum length
* No images
* Pro Members with e-commerce stores may advertise in their signature
Bans & Infractions
Honest Forum reserves the right to infract and/or ban members at moderator discretion. Moderators will record any and all actions taken in the “Moderator Log,” located in the Drama section. “Unban Member” threads will not be tolerated, and will result in a 3 day temporary ban.
BANS
Temporary bans will be given out as per the rule breakdown. 3rd Strike bans will be voted on by moderators in an official thread to determine whether a ban is necessary and the duration.
The poll will last 48 hours.
UNBANS
These will be done on a case by case basis. Members will be allowed to rejoin if an effort is being made on the part of that memer to change their behavior, they will also be on probation for 3 months if allowed back. Not everyone who asks to be re-instated will be, it will be at solely our discretion
The Honest Mall
Authentic merchandise only
Honest Forum is a community based on the buying and selling of authentic merchandise only. Counterfeit goods will not be tolerated. Vendors and personal sellers that carry fakes will be challenged and removed.
Authenticity Checks
Honest Forum members provide authentications as a courtesy. Honest Forum is not legally liable for any opinion, although we strongly encourage users not to state their opinions as fact.
No selling in discussion area
Selling is only allowed in the Honest Mall. If you are caught selling, or attempting to sell anywhere else on the forum, your post will be removed and/or locked. Attempts to sell outside the mall with result in:
1st Strike - Infraction
2nd Strike - Temporary Ban (30 days)
3rd Strike - Permanent Ban
*durations at Moderator dicretion*
Sellers will be required to show
#1 Their ebay names
#2 They must take paypal
#3 Pictures must not be copied or stock photos
Anyone not following these rules will have their posts removed and they will be contacted and told to follow the rules. If they continue to try and sell, the consequences above will apply.
