What do you think about hats?

So I have ran into plenty of situations where I want to wear a jacket... for example various g-star jackets, or my blackscissors leather jacket, but I don't feel like doin my hair. Now I think I look like a complete tool if I don't do my hair so my only option is to wear a hat, however I don't think normal baseball caps look good paired with these types of jackets. Does anybody have a suggestion as far as hats that go well with this type of outwear? I'm leaning more towards beanies but I can't seem to find any that don't make me look like I'm about to go snowboarding or attending middle school. I want something that is a bit more fashionable... whatever that hell that may mean. As you can tell I am quite lost on the subject and any help would be appreciated.

NEVER! I need something to cover my silly hair sometimes.... but yeah no fedora for me... plus I don't think it would look good with a leather jacket.

Wear your hair short so "doing" your hair means running your hand through it.

if I cut my hair a child dies, so I vowed not do so unless it is deemed absolutely necessary.

this post is rediculous - actually, the poster more than the post. What the hell does wearing a jacket have to do with doing your hair. Get a haircut that allows minimal work. I have 'longer' hair which required me to do absolutely nothing to it - it just falls into place (and i have a professional job, so it's by no means sloppy). Or cut your hair shorter. The only acceptable hat i can think of is a military inspired hat - and even that, i feel a bit silly wearing

Wearing a jacket has nothing to do with my hair; you're focusing way too much on the other details I have posted that I see are unnecessary now because people tend to get sidetracked or confused. I meant that if I don't do my hair the only hat I own is a baseball cap, which I wear with t shirts or a hoodie... thats okay with me. However if I want to wear a heavier jacket I feel that the baseball cap looks awkward soooooooo I was asking if anyone had any suggestions as far as alternatives.

I made this thread to maybe get some ideas on hats, much like people ask questions on t-shirts, shoes, jewlery, jackets, jeans, etc.

I was not looking for the answer "why don't you cut your hair so you don't have to worry about doing it."

Forget about the hair and let's pretend that I just wanted the hat as an accessory to my outfit. If you simply don't like hats fine you don't need to post or you could say "listen man I don't like hats as a part of my wardrobe and you shouldn't either." simple as that.

Thanks for the suggestions for those who gave em.

That denim hat is spectacular.

Here's your intended question:

Hey guys, i'm looking for a hat other than baseball cap - what do you recommend?

However, you wrote a bizarre stream of conscious paragraph that made no sense

Brixton on Revolve has some nice hats that arent overly expensive, and they are made well for the price

Brixton - Holiday 2008 Collection - Free Shipping!

Some of them are sold out, they had more variety a few days ago

If you're going to wear a hat, you should still do your hair, because you will look like a douche if you go indoors somewhere and don't take your hat off.

I cannot pull of anything besides fedora and walking hat, so, my suggestion is limited.

Some stores/online shop worth checking out:
Hollywood Hatter on Melrose
Goorin Hat Shop in CA: Goorin Brothers - Bold Hatmakers : Established 1895
JJ Hat Cetern in NY: JJ Hat Center, Inc.

If shedding least 200 for a hat is not your type, look from mid price fashion brands.
Due to the mass popularity of fedora, walking hat, and porkpie, it's not that hard to find a decent hat nowadays. Such as London Fog (surprising good), RVCA (a friend of mine has one from them, top quality for the price range), and etc.

I'm old fashion when it comes to watch and hat, which means I firmly believe that they can be the most hidden way of establishing self image. Get a nice ones if you can afford. Hand-made hat is way more endurable, better looking, and will still be valuable in years.

im sorry, but you should be taking out of this forum for saying that. Unless your a 70-90 year old man, fedora's don't belong on anyone elses head. Man whatever you want to wear just throw it on. If you show the confidence to pull it off, nobodys going to notice it. I rock baseball hats with ANYTHING, and I mean anything (unless its a wedding). If you think you can rock it you can.

baseball hats only rock on college campus and baseball field.
