HF elections: Diesel and Forum Manager positions open - Page 3

I understood that's what Dave meant, but what's to stop him from rejecting anybody besides who he may have already decided on?

What's the point in even having an election if the person with the most votes isn't guaranteed the postion? Ridiculous.
Dave, why don't you go ahead and post a list of all the members who you would veto if they won the election so we don't waste our time.
Sevs, why would you neg that? What if you were to win the election and he vetoed you?
sounds rigged to me

Keep that word out of this forum please

The point is to ensure that we don't get stuck with someone completely unsuited for the position. This is the internet, genius, meaning it's very easy for a poll deciding the winner of an online election to be manipulated. Someone on SuFu could rally hundreds of starving Asian teenagers to vote for him as Team Manager, or we might get NYC_Exclusive_Shop or Zathans_Rule elected to the position of Diesel moderator as a joke.

Having elections which aren't fully democrtic is a safeguard against electing people who would completely kill HonestForum.

I negged the post because it would be hypocritical of me to believe in Dave having the ultimate power to decide who can and cannot become moderator but yet feel that I should be exempt from his hand of fate.

Well I guess you better hope you're not on the veto list.

Since dave agreed with whoever wrote him saying that you're "poisoning" HF.

Yeah right Dave's golden boy getting vetoed that'll never happen.

My friend just linked me to this article; it's very well put.

The Impeachment of George W. Bush

See what I did there, riotpoof? I said that something was well put, even though I don't necessarily agree with the text. Hell, it might even win me some brownie points on this forum from people who tend to feel the same way as that article's author!

He does get away with a lot most people wouldn't, but I don't think he would get elected over CUTUP so I guess it's not really an issue.
look

Dave should just take his picks and have us choose between them..

because it's not a real election if even one person isn't allowed to win.

it would almost be as bad as having a president elect who doesn't want to reveal his birth certificate to prove he was allowed to run in the first place.
As many others have said, CUTUP for forum moderator.

I belize biodiesel will do well as a Diesel moderator, despite his long written essay responses to a simple yes or no question.

If there is ever a section made in the mall dedicated for selling shopping bags, I nominate lilcram as moderator.

yea sevenkid you aren't completely toxic like ACO. some of your posts are quite good actually. the last two seem impressively level headed.

and yea, i don't really think anybody wants zathans_rule as the new forum manager.

i vote riotpoof as mod of the lifestyles section
post #65 of 153
Are we EVER going to fill the Dry Denim Mod position? Its just absurd that its been left open this whole time considering it probably gets more hits then (TR, R&R, COH). Just putting out there as well.

i like this transparency, but i think people should be treated fairly and equally by their character rather than by their gender.

its simple. women deserve respect.

^ gays don't apparently
agreed, but why single them out? "especially newbies and women?" women should be treated the same as men. both men and women will take advantage of others if given special treatment. doesn't matter if you think you're doing him/her a favor by being their "knight in shining armor"

call me old school, but i think you are supposed to hold the door and stuff. and just be respectful of women.

we want that here as well. a lot of forums are very biased towards one gender. we would like to hopefully have everybody mingle and be cool. a bunch of loudmouthed guys beating their denim chests aren't going to make everybody feel welcome here.
