HF elections: Diesel and Forum Manager positions open

Hello good people. We are excited to have our very first HF election.

We need to get some candidates for

Forum Manager

Diesel jeans Mod

Dry Denim Mod

Flickr coordinator

We are looking for hard working, respectful individuals to apply, and to be recommended for these positions.

The Diesel Jeans moderator will be in charge of the largest and most active Diesel jeans community on the web. (there is one in China too, but I don't speak chinese)He or she will get the ability to join us in the leaders section. Also he will get a free t-shirt, and if we have enough money left over, maybe some other gifts.

The HF Team Manager will be in charge of all the mods. He or she will be expected to grow the forum by listening to the ideas of the members and the mods. He will get a clothing stipend of $925

The flickr coordinator will help us upload waywt pics to our flickr account, and these will show up at the bottom of the HF page. He or she will get a free shirt.

The Dry Denim Mod will moderate our (somewhat) new dry denim section. He or she will get a t-shirt as well. We would really like to find somebody quite well versed in dry denim to fill this spot.

ROLES

Dave

The owner of the site. He comes and goes. He mainly works with leading the programmers and checking on the manager to make sure all the mods are doing well. Posts often in chat and team leaders and helps with discussions about HF decisions and ideas. In additon, he is spending a considerable amount of time lately trying to grow HF's small charity.

Team Manager
The team managers role is to be in charge of the moderators. To be their main contact. To help the mods get on their feet. If the mods are doing their jobs correctly, the manager's work should decrease. The team manager should also be a strong leader on the forum and help continue to grow and improve the site.

Moderators
Moderators help keep things civil. They tirelessly mop and sweep the forum- (keep overly bad language and disrespect out..especially disrespect to newbies and women) The mods are leaders and are expected to act respectfully and professionally at all times.

How this election will work.

Because there are a number of cliques, we are unable to allow fully democratic elections. I withhold the right to veto any candidates or any people voted up.

I nominate myself for the position of Forum Moderator; get ready for a landslide.

I second this nomination.

I NOMINATE THE GRINCH!

I think Sevs would be a good mod...no joke

I'd nominate myself for Forum manager under the idea that I would allow this place to be far more self policing. My "presence" as a mod would be relatively invisible.

I think some people here understand what that would entail.. but I fear perhaps not enough to make me a viable candidate.

I would definitely not nominate myself for a moderator position as I completely disagree with Dave's definition of what a mod should be.

Cutup would be far better than I.

just like the free beers, this election is open to everybody as well.

(not sure if any anybody on the other forums are interested, but might as well offer it to everybody so we can hopefully find the best)

I wouldn't mind the Manager job - I'm pretty neutral

the fact that you were holding a crying party for jskidder is proof that you have no idea whats going on.

i nominate lilcram for moderator of the newly expanded true religion sweatpants subforum but thats where my generosity ends.

You seem quite comfortable with your grand assumptions.

Nobody is holding a pity party for James. He made his bed, and the current leadership is making sure he sleeps in it.

But there is something to be said of the ban happy, evolution resistant administration that exists currently.

ahahhahaha. lilcram's av is pretty funny

First off, anyone that nominates themselves shouldn't be eligible for consideration.

Secondly, while I understand why you (Dave) are making these decisions open and transparent to the rest of the forum it really boils down to you finding a person that you can trust. Trust in their ability to lead a forum but also trust that they will handle disagreements within the moderating team with decorum and privacy.

well it doesnt take a rocket scientist to be certain that 17 + 12 = 29 buddy. theres a lot of nuances in this forum which is really what makes it difficult for new members to assimilate into our culture. theres people you can fuck with and people you cant. you can say just about anything to me and it doesnt matter whereas if you picked on some other poor soul maybe they would get upset. you can talk shit to lilcram because everyone talks shit to lilcram. if you dont plus lornas pictures youre going to get banned. jskidder is bald and short. mihalis is greek and likes listening to some strikingly beautiful man singer. desoka is 14 and is allergic to food. biodiesel is mexican and lives in a hut in el salvador. 7kid lives upstairs. to be successful at moderating anything you would have to have this knowledge.

so that's not you trying to promote yourself , correct?

Hilarious, but not true.

Please don't go around throwing the word assumption at people when you are making statements like your third idea.

Are you aware you have just hurt the feelings of two people that wanted to be named very badly but weren't? Then again, perhaps you meant to leave them out and if you did knowingly then that's, well, delicious.

also as stated by nfj anybody who is interested in getting any sort of position higher than myself should be subject to an interview by yours truly. the contents of this interview may be but are not limited to: pants, greek pop singers, best ways to make eggs, your favorite oil burner oils, and how many band of outsiders shirts you own
