just make clear of what rules members should abide to. if rules are broken, then your membership is at risk.
if you do a shitty job of enforcing (this includes not enforcing and also bending) these rules, expect your members to get pissed. that's just some easy advice for a forum owner if he/she wants to maintain a successful forum.
it's also understandable to ban religion as a topic of discussion, but it's also hypocritical to shove your religious values on others at the same time, e.g. not allowing semi-nude pics, specific curse words, sexual topics, etc. yes, if you check your history, those values have religious roots.
banning people simply for saying mean things is also absurd. i'm not condoning "mean speech;" i'm saying that both parties are equally deserving of criticism. i mean, christ, they're just fucking words. you empower them by choosing to believe they mean something to you. it's your fault for being weak, so no, you're not the victim.
