just make clear of what rules members should abide to. if rules are broken, then your membership is at risk.

if you do a shitty job of enforcing (this includes not enforcing and also bending) these rules, expect your members to get pissed. that's just some easy advice for a forum owner if he/she wants to maintain a successful forum.



it's also understandable to ban religion as a topic of discussion, but it's also hypocritical to shove your religious values on others at the same time, e.g. not allowing semi-nude pics, specific curse words, sexual topics, etc. yes, if you check your history, those values have religious roots.

banning people simply for saying mean things is also absurd. i'm not condoning "mean speech;" i'm saying that both parties are equally deserving of criticism. i mean, christ, they're just fucking words. you empower them by choosing to believe they mean something to you. it's your fault for being weak, so no, you're not the victim.

I'm in Philly. Maybe we should host an HF get-together. Styleforum has those sometimes, although those seem to be a bit creepy and subdued, with too many guys wearing suits.

i also recommend that banned members given a chance by allowing them to post in ''Ënter at our own risk'' section

ppl like aco and others will then not be able to ffend the rest of the humans


or ppl with infraction be limited to EAYOR section

We've got a lot of great ideas here. I think an "Enter at your own risk" would be fine so long as there are explicit rules about what crosses the line. That, and a mod that would frequent the section. That way, HF Chat would be a much clamer place in general.

In the meantime, I'm opening/changing R&R (beacuse we've got a ton of great members still there) so members feel comfortable somewhere until all the other kinks are out.

Well thank you but I just wish people understood that Mods contribute behind the scenes too. Trust me when I say that we want to see HF headed in a good direction and we ARE listening to everyone's ideas on how to make HF better with the means we've got.

(FYI, Kelly stepped down some time ago.)
