How do xXx Matics differ from 'reg' matics

Fit wise mostly.
This is my first pair of matics-I've never even tried on a pair before this b/c I'm not a fan of the butt crack-rise (although these are a 7 inch rise so they're good, but can someone please, in the detail oriented form that I've come to love and expect from HF, outline the ways in which the xXx matics don't measure up to regular matics?
The pros/cons.

As Begret said, she likes them Because they don't fit like regular matics. I personally love the wash(a subtle blue) and like the fit (I wish they didn't bag out in the knees though. I thought that was just a problem of being 100% cotton w/o stretch).
I also think the quality of denim is high because of it's softness and yet is also lightweight (another bonus). I love the patch too.

Wash - Love it! Supersoft and comfy
Fit - Tight throughout
Buttcrack Risk - High


89s TTS
Wash - Supercomfy, ultraversatile
Fit - Tight throughout
Buttcrack Risk - High


88d TTS
Wash - Unique and awesome. Patches are a bit tight until broken in.
Fit - Looser at the knee due to patches.
Buttcrack Risk - Med


71R Runs Small Size up
Wash - Super awesome light wash. Soft but runs tight.
Fit - Tight throughout
Buttcrack Risk - High


8ct TTS
Wash - Lovely pocket detail. Very stretchy wash but doesn't stretch out much (well hasn't for me yet) Very comfy.
Fit - Slightly looser at knee than 81m
Buttcrack Risk - Med


8kx TTS
Wash - I love dark washes!
Fit - Slightly looser at knee
Buttcrack Risk - High




8uj TTS
Wash - Ok fabric is a little stiff but should soften up with wear. Not a huge fan of the wash.
Fit - Looser at the knee and ankle. Not as fitted as other matics. More like a tight straight leg than a stovepipe matic.

Anyone have wash/cut lists from before SS07? I know that was when the diesel denim guide was still up... was that thing even accurate? I could never find some of the wash/cut combos that were listed.

Gizmo-the xxx look great on you (as do the others especialy 8KX), but I see that the knees & ankles are baggier/looser. On diesel.com's online store under matics, some look like that. Some leg openings are 5.7, some 5.9, some 6.2, and still some aren't listed. So, Matics do vary in tapering, knee, and leg opening.

^yup depends on the wash. The stiffer the wash the looser they cut it. The stretchier the tighter, generally.

I don't have *that* many matics, but from my experience the xXx matics fit more like matic 88D. Rise isn't quite as low and the lower legs are less fitted. My other matics feel more like leggings than jeans, especially 81m.

86c also a size down pair, 8hg true to size, 72z tts and 8fc mine ran a little small


for me my 89s, 81m, 8hg, and 86c fit tighter, more like leggings as jessica mentioned

my 8uj ( the anniversary pair), 88d, 72z, and 8fc fit loser from the knee down

it has been said before that diesel changed the cut of the matic but I did find the 8hg to fit just like my 81m.


the rise on mine are all about the same on my body

this is such a great thread! Please post your worn matic pics too so we can see the variations of each wash, eve if it's the same wash as another has posted-it'll still look different most likely.
