raw is not for you because one pair of pants didn't fit?

I know that flatheads are not. Also, i don't like the texture of raw jeans. Reminds me of wool.

there are so many different kinds of raw denim though. flathead is very unique and much more "hairy" than most, thus the wool-like texture. there is stuff out there that ranges from very light and thin to ultra-thick, and from completely smooth and soft to smooth and rigid to thick and textured and everywhere in between. its hard to really get an idea of it over the internet though.

I have to agree here, I wouldn't totally rule out raw denim due to one bad fit. You'll be able to sell these on superfuture and get most of your money back.

For your next pair though, I would suggest finding a sanforized pair so that way you will know how they fit on first try.

Read up on the specific brand and find how they stretch etc.. For you specifically, I might try to look for a slightly lower wasted brand too.

I think the problem is you dove right into a brand that better suits people with a lot of experience with raw denim. The fit and fabric of the flatheads are very specific and the required shrinking takes a bit of practice.

My first pair was a nudie RR Grecast about 3 years ago. This was a good pair to start with since they faded relatively quickly. Although, I would probably think twice about buying another pair of nudies. The quality wasn't that great and they whored the brand out pretty badly.

Maybe try for a pair of APCs, I just recently bought a pair and love them. If you do buy them make sure to size down to account for stretching. You should be able to find a pair of these to try on in person and they have enough styles to accommodate just about any body type. Once again these guys fade pretty quickly.

i would start on APCs first..cause u can buy em cheap online new...i paid 108.50 for brand new APC NS shipped

u dont have to soak, everyone knows about em so its pretty easy to get the right size, and if u change your mind they resell like hot cakes

its a good beginner brand

the rule of thumb is to buy a pair that u can barely button all of the buttons...or it takes a while to button them all up

make sure u know if u want new cures, new standards, petite standards, etc

some people here would prefer a tighter fit then new standards
post #68 of 72
Well the problem is i dont think singapore carries this particular brand heh :X anyways im looking for just a casual fit i dont want it to be extremely tight fitting in any case yup! plus rescue doesnt have my size since their minimum is waist 30 >< so my best choice would be New Standard either 25/26 i guess?
why dont u surf the web and check out "fit" pics of the various styles so u can tell exactly what u want...

i would never guess on a pair of jeans...did u measure a pair of jeans that u own that fit u well yet?
To be honest the best fit ive had was when i tried out this pair of LVCs at a store haha. Im looking for a relaxed fit based on your experience would APC NS stretch till around there? assuming i buy a pair which is super tight at the start :X thanks for your help once again!
okay i just measured a pair of my jeans the thigh was around 10'' and there was excess space too does that mean i wont be able to wear in a pair of APC NS that well since it wouldnt be that tight when i first wear it? (the measurement i took was slightly below the crotch area)
okay i just took my measurements im waist 28, thighs 10.5, calves 12. im hoping they would stretch till around relaxed fit what size should i get? thanks sorry for spamming i posted this in the APC thread too but no reply yet =/
