I hope its okay to add something:

After LV said that 98% of the listened bags on ebay are fake, I took a closer look at this topic and I found some interesting sites.

the following sites will help to see the difference between a real LV and a fake bag and have some more information about LV.

www.mypoupette.com/

LV bags

Just so you know LV does not wholesale or have a secondary market LV only sells to select retail shops. while it "might" be possible to find an authentic LV item on ebay used. You will not find any wholesale LV unless its fake.

The only thing I know about fake ones is that the LV's are upside down in the back on fake ones...

LV's are upside down on the Speedy models

The LV's are upside down on the back of the Speedy models because it uses one continuous piece of material, I believe.

That is correct. There are a million things that can be used in identifying fakes. mypoupette.com and the hisremnant.org one are the best sites you can find, short of joining an LV group on ezboard or MSN groups.

The LVs are upsidedown on quite a few models, other than just the Speedy. Be careful about posting on here as to what constitutes a fake, and what doesn't. This forum is to educate people, and not to misinform.

I have an authentic Mini Looping bag, and the back has upsidedown LVs, b/c like a previous poster said, the material is continuous.

The scary thing is the fact that the fakes are becoming SO good! I've heard stories of people bringing their Hong Kong fakes to LV to get authenticated, and the staff there think they are real! =( Grrrrr.

For me, when it comes to LV, my best bet is just to not buy online. It's not worth the hassle, and the possibility of getting a fake bag. Some of the good fakes run for 250+ dollars! In a case like that, I'd rather just buy myself an authentic Coach bag or something!

If anyone needs help with determining if your bag is authentic or not, pm me and I will help you out! I own several LVs.. I know what is real and what is fake.

If you are thinking about buying from eBay, be aware that the word "authentic" does not mean a THING to these sellers!! Ask me if you want to bid but are not sure.

Also, http://mypoupette.com has very useful information about Vuitton bags.

Things to watch out for.

Tags and dust bags are usually dead give aways. Know your tags, LV tags and dust bags are universal world wide. If the tag is fake, you can rest assured the bag is fake.

Serial Numbers. You can't always locate a serial number on authentic bags, so don't try to rely on them. Often times and in most cases these days Serial numbers are plastered on LV bags, and often in spaces were they can be easilly seen. If you want to get really tehcnical, you can research serial number meanings to determine if your bag is fake or not.

LV is distributed exclusively by LV, there is no middle man. LV is exclusively sold to LV stores. Or LV boutiques within stores which are completly run by LV. If your not buying from an LV store, be careful odd are it's gona be a fake.

Okay, so just had this whole beautiful long paragraph typed out and then I accidently pressed a button and it deleted it. DANG! I hate that!

Starting over...www.mypoupette.com is a great site! And if you are serious about buying LV online, then her book is worth the money. Okay, so here's my breakdown. Fonts are a huge tipoff. Fake bags 99.9999% of the time will have a really crappy LV font. At the end of this I will post some pics. Also, don't rely on resale shops or other things of the like. I saw a fake LV and a so obviously fake Fendi it disgusted me. They usually don't check. LV does not do wholesale, ever, they only sell to authorized stores and a few online websites (www.eluxury.com) and to my knowledge, LV never is marked down. Even some ebay sellers selling used LV that look genuine enough could be fake (they may not have known when the bought it, etc.) so make you sure you take all necessary precautions. The ebay seller mypoupette is not in any way related to mypoupette.com. They sell fakes.

That one wasn't as good as my first paragraph. Picture time!

That is fake. Note how tall and skinny the font is. Also, beware of sellers who sell multiples of single items. Like this girl, says she received this as 'an unwanted gift'. Well, I guess someone decided to give her oodles of fake LV! Ha. Don't fall for it.

First of all, a mypoupette.com recommended seller, second of all, note the font. It's very round. Not skinny and tall. The font is always a really good way to tell fakes (which abound!) and real ones.

the sad thing about these bags is that there are so many more fakes than reals that you just assume all of them are fakes when you see someone with one. They are a lot like Rolex watches now. Screw rolex, give me an ICW or a Zenith.

eluxury is owned by LV. They are the only authorized online seller of LV's.
I had an online chat with them about a pair of 7's before. VERY helpful and they gave me the number to 7fam for further questions.
FROM MY CHAT WITH THEM
eLUXURY is owned by LVMH (Moet Hennessey - Louis Vuitton), which owns many of the world's most prestigious labels. We are therefore able to guarantee the authenticity of all products shown on our website.

this is his site for that LV purse:
http://cgi.ebay.com/authentic-Louis-...c mdZViewItem

ANYWAYZ my mom was fooled and bought a FAKE one so i know for sure this POCHETTE PURSE is fake.

HOW??? there are words on the side of the purse: LOUIS VUITTON ... if you go to their website and look at the real POCHETTE bag there aren't any words.
