Haha you could definitely make a lot of friends whipping out youporn on that thing at the checkout line. Like James said, you can still get it and resort to pichunter or why not go get your favorite hits off the internet and put them on the phone yourself so you don't have to stumble across those movies you regretted clicking on.

I can see you've really thought this through.

i have a friend who is developing an app that will let you protect files on the device using a gesture

Lockbox

we all know it's gonna be for porn

If you want to call it that. Just took a minute to think how you could pull it off.

my friend louie (he also designed the honestforum logo!) and the rest of his company have released two new apps yesterday and today. twinkle, a location-based twitter client, and friendbook, which lets you manage contacts easier and share contact info with other friendbook users

Is the IPhone worth it?

I was in line with my BF yesterday and was guaranteed a phone but after an hour and about 15 people from getting one, we decided that it was completely unnecessary and left.

My current phone and plan allows me to access the internet using 3G and I can connect it to my laptop to go online whenever wherever. The Iphone doesn't have the capability to connect my laptopn online so I decided to keep my current phone instead. Does anyone know another way to get this function?

I am sure they will find a way. I have never found the want or need to do this though. I can get about everything I want online with the iPhone anyway. Do you tether a lot?

Dev team will be releasing the pwnage tool TOMORROW!!!!!! just check out the site it says:

Sundays

i am pretty sure you can tether the iphone if you have the enterprise data plan and/or mobile me. not positive though. but to answer your question, it is absolutely worth it. and this is cominh from someone who was VERY apprehensive about getting one and did so just to check it out thinking there would be a 90% or better chance i would end up returning it within 14 days...

What is the plus in cracking it now? The only thing I can think of is the same apps in the app store except maybe getting them free?
and of course, customizing the icons and themes. It's the only reason I ever cracked the first one.

you'll be able to run apps that apple doesn't accept in the app store. a friend on the dev team also said that he can sign apps so that they are installable through itunes but idk if it can be released..
hmm. Looks like a lot of people are hitting walls with it right now. I will give it a week before I start considering.

Mihalis! I see you were chatting with Louie on his twinkle app. I can see your avatar in the picture on his website. What's the deal with Friend Book though? I can't find it.
yep, that's me. i was really excited when louie showed me the link. are you on twitter? add me: twitter.com/vito

anyways friend book WAS available in app store (there was a link but you couldn't find by search or by searching tapulous..) however for some reason it was pulled. i don't have the official story however i'll IM louie tonight for an update. i have it on my phone and it wasn't all that stable. contact scrolling with 250+ contacts is actually speedier than apple's contacts app however friend dialer is slow and the handshake feature is really fucked up. it sent contact info to people in australia... i know handshake has been pulled from the server until the flaw in the algorithm is fixed.

i tried pwnagetool2 today on my old iphone and it seriously screwed up my itunes install and my phone. it's a brick now. iphone dev team really screwed up with this launch providing no instructions, tutorial, or anything.
I just added you. I am under automatickyle

I thought the concept of Friend Book looked amazing and something that could be really useful once they get it all fixed. I hope they are able to figure it out soon.

people on macrumors forums are finding ways to unbrick them I believe. That's exactly why I will be waiting for awhile to consider.

I've finally decided to get the phone, went to store to realize it was sold out. They said they had it in stock 2 hours prior to my arrival. I guess I'll have to wait till next week for arrival. I just hate the idea of waiting in line outside the store to get one.

Running an iPhone 3g jailbroken.. Puuuuuurfect...
i finally was able to jailbreak and unlock my old iphone. everything is stable with the jailbreak and my greek sim works in it fine, but i can't confirm calling because i'm not in greece

i'm not going to jailbreak my iphone 3g yet. i really have no need for a jailbreak other than to play around in the file system which i can do via ssh/sftp on my old iphone..

10 Things the 3G iPhone is Still Missing - Page1 -Â* MSN Tech & Gadgets - Products

It's true but it sounds like they are nit-picking

You know they are when one of the things they list is improved predictive text. I haven't had a better predictive text option. As for some of these things, I would never use or care about.
