A.P.C. Jeans “Butler Worn Out” | Hypebeast
post #2 of 5
This is interesting. They are already worn by somebody else??? Wouldn't they fall apart really easily? I love them, however I wouldn't pay over $40 or $50 for a pair. (I actually prefer used jeans) I also don't understand why some jeans company won't just make jeans with this exact coloring and distressing. It doesn't seem hard to do. All the other ones look unnatural, like what you see on R&R and SFAM(Although I love the washes) but you know what I mean? It doesn't seem very difficult to make a pair of jeans like this that is brand new. Looks like all you would need is some bleach, sand paper, and maybe some stones to wash them with. Who knows. I wish I could go into the jeans making business. Ever since I was little I have been obsessed with worn out jeans. I wore levi's 501's all throughout middle school and highschool.

no they wouldn't fall apart easily. they arent true religions. because they were worn enough to fade doesnt exactly mean they were beaten to death. denim companies DO make washes with distressing similar to this, it isn't hard at all. rr and sfam dont really target people who know what a "realistic" wash would look like, thats why i find it stupid when a pair of rr/sfam skinny jeans have a bunch of distressings on the hem (because unless you run around barefoot the hems wouldnt touch the ground to get so worn). diesel makes some realistic (72d comes to mind instantly) washes but imo dior homme definitely does the most realistic washes...almost all of their washed denim could be done with some heavy wear on a pair of raw jeans.

LOL! My Matic 81M's have distressing on the hems. They are skinnies. This is funny though. I know what you mean. Would you purchase these pre-worn APC's Mihalis? I wonder how much they will be, considering they are essentially second hand.

APCs fade so quickly that I feel like this is almost not worth the added cost. Within 4-6 months you can get very nice fades on APCs. It's not like eternals where buying pre-worn would allow you to avoid a year and a half of effort.
