Fake SFAMK at C21?

I was in NY, NY this weekend and bought a couple of pairs of 7's at the high-end discount department store Century 21. I have two authentic pairs and am questioning the authenticity of one of the pairs that I purchased there. They are off white A pockets with style number U130121U121U and cut number 701551. There are a few suspicious things about them: the style and cut number are stitched not printed, the tag says 100% cotton but they clearly have poly in them, the button is different from the ones on my bootcut and flares, the fabric is also questionable. Is it possible that C21 could be selling fake 7's? I noticed that someone from NY is selling them on ebay today. They must have bought them there as well.

I believe it is highly possible they are selling fakes. I have never purchased from Century 21 but I did see the following auction on EBay:

Correct me if I am wrong, but these just look like obvious fakes to me. According to the seller they were bought at Century21. It's sad if a store is selling fakes for unsuspecting buyers to buy them as authentic & then they end up on EBay sold to another unsuspecting buyer.... what a vicious cycle. Bless this site for giving us a research tool![/url]

I have confirmed that the jeans are fakes. I contacted C21 and they said that they "don't knowingly purchase fakes." The person seemed somewhat concerned about it and passed the message on to a merchandiser. We will see where it goes. It's a pain because I'm home in Toronto, Canada. Hopefully because they are a major department store they will find a way to give me my money back but I won't hold my breath.

Hi!

Yep, these are definitely fakes. I've featured this exact style on my website. If you can't read the text because it's in German just click on "Seven for all Mankind", then on "Havana Flare ohne Stretch (Cut-Nr. 701662)". There are closer pics of the inner lable where you can see exactly that style- and cut-no. are stitched, not printed.

This seller on eBay is funny - she is so convinced that her jeans are authentic that she even photographed the store receipt. Obviously she has no clue how to spot a fake Seven. This is very sad because all other pairs she has sold so far were authentic.

I tried to tell her but she doesn't believe me. At first she was really concerned but then she later emailed back saying that it is impossible that C21 would sell fakes and she is 100% sure that they are authentic.

Century 21 contacted me and instructed me to send the jeans to them and they will reimburse all costs and will investigate.
