Well your self-absorbed opinions don't carry that much weight either. By simply adding a question mark at the end of a band's name, judging the appearance of the singer, and adding the word fuck in around the band's name is not really saying much...

So I say that you should be the one that needs to grow a pair.

I'd go to Radiohead if the promised to only play material from their first 3 albums.

I've never understood when people talk about the greatest bands ever, because any band that sticks around for long enough will start to suck. Most "great" bands make a few good albums and then spend a few decades making mediocre grade crap and coasting by on reputation.

Thanks guys! From the consensus and reasons I guess I'll go see Radiohead. I love them both equally and although coldplay is probably more mainstream (from what you guys are implying) I still love them for their mellow/chill factor. Radiohead I've loved for longer though and they remind me of certain moments in high school (way back when) so there's some sentimental value in their songs for me. So that makes my decision complete.

I'm not sure who else mentioned it earlier, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Muse too! You guys have great sense in music. None of my friends tend to like the same music I like but then again most of my friends are from Texas and listen to solely country. However, I'd have to say that Portishead=Sex...Another one of my favorites.

My father likes old school country and I kinda grew up with that and hated it...the songs were all about wives leaving their men and therefore leaving them to tend to the crops and cattle by themselves. Haha.

LOL no, I probably don't mean those, either.... Listen to "Conversation with the Devil" by Ray Wylie Hubbard for example. humorous lyrics - really good. '
btw I'm not a country fan but I wanted to point out that, as in any genre, there are a lot of crappy artists but also a few good ones.

I was lucky enough to purchase tickets for both concerts because just like you, I have been wanting to see both bands perform live for some time now. With the price of gas and other expenses I have right now I have decided to sell my Coldplay tickets because I could use the money. I realize watching a concert on TV isn't the same, but I did see Coldplay in concert on DirecTV, and while I did enjoy it, I wasn't blown away. Plus, I really don't care much for "Viva La Vida" and I am just gonna wait until next time they tour.

As far as Radiohead, I've heard nothing but amazing things from people who have seen them in concert. I watched some video's of Radiohead in concert on youtube and as one person stated already, it seems like a religious experience. Radiohead is on a whole different level than Coldplay, their music is innovated and unique, Thom feels every word he sings. I have to say that I've never been this excited for a concert before...so to answer your question...go see Radiohead.

The point was that all bands start to suck if they stay together long enough. A lot of aging artists release material that people hail as great just because it manages to be somewhat decent. And that same material would be rated as mediocre at best during the peaks of their careers.

Coldplay by miles and miles. Although Radiohead is a good band, I feel that Coldplay has brought music to a new level. A lot of the comments posted here are pretty funny though, because they're degrading a band that has set records and is extremely influential. It's almost as if saying Boston is a terrible classic rock band.

As for the concerts, they're extremely good and give me shivers when I go see them. It really depends on how much you like the band. JSkid said he found the concerts to be mediocre and sub par, but how can any concert be good if you don't fully enjoy the music and fully indulge yourself in the experience? Rent is one of the most successful Broadway shows ever. but how am I supposed to even remotely enjoy it when I don't find Broadway shows appealing?

I got presale seats for Coldplay from the Best Buy thing, row B section D FTMFW!

please tell me to which levels coldplay has elevated music to? how are they influential (in a positive way)? i've followed (hated) coldplay for a decade now.

and popularity is horrible gauge of a band's talent. popularity is though a fantastic gauge of the shite taste of some people though

i'm sorry bro, but coldplay pulls so much influence from other bands that i find it hard to believe that they themselves have had any direct influence on anything.
