what do i do first after i get a pair of selvage denim??

i read the 411 and all that


but do i soak em alone in a tub before i wear em?

do i wear em and sit in the tub and soak?

do i have to do this if they are already tight?

^from what ive read people do some step before they get down to wearing them

i dont see where it says is step #1

there really are no "steps", you just wear them and soak/wash them when you feel necessary. because they're selvage doesn't mean they get a different kind of treatment compared to non-selvage denim.

so basically the next step is to wear them and wear them HARD!!

ok i thought people were giving them a "pre-soak" after they bought the denim

to do some sort of pre-wear trick...

i guess i'll throw on my new jeans and go get into some bar fights

if they are sanforized you don't soak them. if they are not you will need to do so before wearing them. how you soak them will depend on how much or how little you want them to shrink.
