paypal dispute help!

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to post this thread here, if not mod please feel free to move it!

O.K I need paypal experts' help! The story is, I paid big time money to a member here for a pair of jeans in late march. Buyer gave me a tracking number which stopped showing further information after the package scanned in "U.S".

I never got the package and stared at the same tracking information "scanned in U.S" for months, opened a dispute and lost it cause accepted the incomplete shipping information. I had my building manager provide the proof of non-recipient, all registered packages go through her record book.

I am no paypal expert and don't know what do to now, I mean I paid big money and got nothing. Plus the shipping information is not helpful at all, nobody knows where's the package. How did I lose the case?

Is there anything I can do to get at least partial refund? Or this is pretty much a dead case?

No I connected my checking account to paypal account, why?

Forgot to mention the seller is in Germany, the package is missing in Deutsch Post.

You need to send a PM to the HF mediator. If you didn't pay with a CC you will not get your money back.

Why did you wait until now to say something?
What is the seller saying? have you contacted the seller?
It is their responsibility to get the item to you no matter what. Can you pm myself and the hf mediator and let us know who the seller is?

I waited for so long cause I thought I should let the paypal take care of this case....

The seller is still an active member here, he didn't respond to any message I sent to him. Man it's really frustrating and risky to purchase stuff through paypal on the HF Mall.

Gota be careful with international sellers!

Thats why you should ALWAYS pay with a CC.

the only thing you have to be careful about is your own method of payment. always use CC.

That's a good lesson indeed, and hurt my wallet.

Who are the other mediators I should contact? Sorry I haven't been around enough to know a lot of things I'm supposed to know....

I've had superb experiences with international HFer's regardless of payment methods.

I think international mailings are honestly a mixed bag, every time - be it either because of a language barrier or simply a lack of detailed tracking information.

I use EMS for every international shipment, but that doesn't seem to stop problems. I had one man in
Germany receive a package, but not pick it up when he missed the initial delivery. He asked for the tracking number, and filed a dispute on PayPal less than 24 hours later. I finally had to beg him to pick it up because the shirt would have been returned to me at MY expense via EMS if he waited too long.

Another guy I shipped to claimed there was a spot on a BNWT shirt I sent him, but claimed he couldn't send me pictures because the "spot was the same color as the shirt," threatened to open a dispute, and then left me positive feedback WEEKS later (after not filing a dispute) saying I was an excellent seller.
(wtf?)

I realize I was on the opposite end of the transaction in both cases, but if the package was shipped shouldn't SOMEONE (anyone) file some kind of search for the package? Was it insured? I'm sure the seller wants you to receive it, just doesn't want to be out jeans AND the money you've paid for it (although I do believe it's their responsibility to make sure it gets to you).

Good luck!

That is just priceless!

The problem with this transaction is the seller is not responding to the buyer. The seller should have shipped with tracking and insurance because its always the sellers responsibility to get the item to the buyer.
