I agree also with mgoose about how it may seem "intimidating" to post as a newcomer. Then again, those newcomers that take offense and run away never to be seen again may not be right for this forum either way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however harsh it may be. I do however think that we could maybe lighten up on people first posts. That's what I observe runs people away the most is getting their early posts bashed to smithereens; after all, don't they say it's important to make a good first impression? When they see that in their early posts they think that's just everyone being mean to them and think that's how HF is. All in all it's not really anyone here to blame; someone running off because people here didn't like their first fit pics may not be here for the right reasons anyways.

Most non shitty forums will tell shitty newcomers who don't bother to see how the forum runs, or read the rules to fuck off.
I don't think it is anyone's responsibility to hold their hands while they pee.

^^That is true, but if somebody ask your opinion on the street about something, you (I mean you as everybody of course) will be more polite. The internet make people a bit more impatient I guess.

when i first joined HF i was scared as fuck to post, hence my join date and when i did actually start posting.

its not as fun to read like it used to be, tho.


edit: must add that when i am on other forums now, i look for a +/- button or rep box...i like it, a lot. its so much easier than making a pointless post that says:

I really think this is part of it and it's one of the reasons I always advocated (and when it was my ability to do so) enforced a strict respect policy....

I find it's been slower than usual, too, especially for me since
a) I don't post in waywt because of my age (and job) - it'd be sort of ridiculous...
and
b) I don't do live chat because my baby won't let me do stuff for more than 2 minutes at a time and also my hubby would laugh at me.
Sales in the mall have also been slow; I remember, when I first joined, you had to "snatch" a pair of jeans the moment they were put up for sale or they'd be gone!
However, this is still the one and only forum I frequent. All the others I've tried are either too big and you never get to "know" anybody - never talk to the same person twice, or they're too small and there are only 4 posts per week by the same 2 people...
Can we revive HF? That would be great. I've been trying to start more posts lately (even dumb ones, I admit) for that reason.

HF has definitely decreased in popularity, a lot of the older members who used to contribute a lot to this forum have gone and moved on and pretty much most the ladies moved to DNA and the newer members dont know the forum as well as the older ones so its harder to contribute things i think, maybe it will pick up again at some point... I hope, I miss the old days though

Fewer people into premium denim mean fewer people searching the web for premium denim which means fewer hits on Honestforum.

I knew HF was doomed when there was no panty raid thread this year.
