has HF become less popular?

It seems the post counts have reduced greatly over the past 6 months or so. The greatest number of logged in users was over 800 but that was almost a year and a half ago. We're getting less than 200 total visitors a day and are averaging less than 100 users logged in at a time.

Yeah but I feel like even when I was modding the place and not allowing things to get to the point where people needed banning we got more posts and had more activity in general

I post less now a days just because I am more busy. Plus there are less threads that peak my attention.

On the other hand. There is a really close community that HF has now; especially in comparison to other forums. Many people on HF know each other personally and I think that that's a very cool thing to have in a forum. More people would just dilute the "togetherness" (generally speaking) that HF has now.

after mario was banned the only interesting section was chat and drama. after denimobsessed was banned there was no real need for drama. after virus was banned the only interesting part of of HF was WAYWT. after peteralexia was banned the only nut job left on HF was TEE. after TEE was banned the number of posts on HF decreased by a factor of 10. and when we finally ban ryan duke the forum will come to a complete standstill.

Maybe this and... I stopped visiting so much once the mall changed. The forum changes, though giving HF a nicer cleaner appearance, have caused the forum to become much less interesting to me.

Could it not be denim loosing ground? HF is only relevant as long as 'designer/ premium/ whatever you want to call it' jeans are popular. A year ago, there was little dispute between what the popular brands were. Now, we have less of a focus on denim, and we have a whole bunch of new labels joining the scene. HF is still structured the same way, with diesels, rocks, sevens, trs, etc, and most of those sub forums are now pretty much dead.

Yeah and before it seemed like there was 3 girls posting for every guy, and now it seems like the ratio is reversed. Which would seem to indicate that the girls are less comfortable posting here now.

I'm not sure which of the following are cause and which are effect, but I have some observations that go along with that. I don't necessarily have a problem with any of these, and I'm quite used to most of them from other internet forums, but they are things I've noticed.

-HF seems like a less "friendly" place, before new members were welcomed, but now if they ask a question that's been asked before the get a dozen replies telling them what an idiot they are.

-There are more cliques as well, which is natural as the forum grows because there are always some people you will get along with better than others, but it seems like it's hard for new members to break into one unless they start making an epic number of posts.

-There are a lot more non-sequitur posts. And I'm not just talking about veering off topic.

-Read the first few pages of WAYWT and it's very encouraging, and compare that to what often happens now. Now this change I am personally ok with as I enjoy the fashion discussion, but it can be intimdating to new people.

I'm sure there's more, but this post is already longer then I intended. What I don't want to see is this place turning into SuFu, but I kind of feel like it's happening.

i honestly wouldn't come on here every day if it weren't for WAYWT, the "togetherness" mgoeclipse mentioned, and of course the lovely HF ladies
