Zatiny 8at or Zathan 8at

which wash is nicer i have my cons and pros for both but not sure which one i should get.

zatiny 8at

the good - love the fit ever since i bought my 8dk so i reallie like zatiny slimmer cut.

the bad - the wings ruin it maybe they look better in person...IMO

zathan 8at

the good - love how it looks overall

the bad - not sure if i want to go back to zathan after buying zatiny 8dk

should i go with zathan 8at which look nicer or go with zatiny which fits me better, or just pass on these two and wait for another light wash in zatiny to show up.

either way if i pick one up should i stick to 30 fo zathan and zatiny ??? do they both strecth???

I find the Zatiny back pockets on the 8AT to be more tolerable than other zatinys. Personally I think they fit the jean well and blend in. Be warned though, my pair of Zatiny 8AT run a bit short.

id say tiny over than any day, but trouleg over them, and viker//farco over them, perhaps safado to top that, thanaz crown on top

The Zatiny 8AT can be really hit or miss from what I've seen. I've seen some pairs that look like a bad wrangler stone wash from the 90s to some much nicer fading etc. I just got a pair after a long ordeal in 30x30 Zatiny 8AT and the wash is awesome, fit really good, but I'm trying to phase out most of my bootcuts and buy some Darrons/Slammers. If you're in the EU and wear a size 30x30 I'm looking to sell mine.

Hey,
i have them both. I like the zathans more. The wash looks on the zathan smoother. same wash but, different. Maybe i got just a bad pair?! ( i had two pairs of the zatiny and both looks the same)
The fit is the same at me, just the different bootcut.

Wash variations make 8AT on Zathan and Zatiny virtually interchangable. I don't think it really merits deep examination.

8AT is one of my least-favorite Zatinys. I'd go with Zathan if you're dead-set on getting 8AT.

what do you have against 8at grondie? It's one of my most favorite Zatinys. The color and pockets are on spot. when did zatiny 8at come out? s/s '07 preview?

Zatiny 8AT came out with SS08 preview.

I'd love 'em if they had back pockets like 8AR, but it doesn't work for me as is.

they're definitely from before s/s 08 preview. Either s/s 07 or f/w 08 preview. I bought mine like end of March 2007. I remember because I had a speeding ticket dismissed that day in court which I never expected to win and spent the money on them instead.

EDIT: Maybe I'm confused, are there any other cuts/light washes with light brown leather winged pockets?

Thank you. It's true! I know there are a lot more washes out now, but the 8AT is sexy as hell, nice rigid denim, and a breath of fresh air for anyone who has a lot of the more whimsical washes hanging in their closet... which I suspect is pretty much all of us.

Yeah it's too bad that I don't care for the inexplicable ripping patterns on the knees of the 8AR. I say inexplicable because the jeans seem absolutely pristine everywhere else, so it looks out of place to me. But GOD do I love those back pockets, they should be on all Zatinys. Dammit. You just can't have everything it seems! I would settle for some 8FAs though. I really have a hard time with the idea of getting another pair of jeans with those crazy wings, even though I don't mind the 8AT's take on it.

The 8ATs in a Zatiny will age well...

 get SO many different descriptions of the Zathan 8AT, can anyone who owms them help? I see pics  of even BNWT that look very light blue and others that look pretty dark. I like the pockets and heavy denim but, don't know the true color.

I guess I will forget them then if they are light,like zathan 8sz? Or, light like zathan 772? So many people call 772 light,but I call the med/dark, so, any more detailed nifo would be cool.

Hey, thank you...still hunting for details...so, lighter than 772"s,do they have similar color as the 772,like,a washes out faded 772 somewhat? Just trying see if they are comparable to other well  known washes.

I used to have Zathan 8AT and Zathan 8SZ. I still have Zatiny 8AT and Zathan 772.

I can confirm that 8AT is lighter than 772 and darker than 8SZ.

you guys sure know a lot about diesel jeans,I have been wearing diesel jeans for many years,so I was looking online the other day to buy some,and stumbled across this forum,wow,I NEVER knew I was wearing "washes" that have  numbers, names  letters,etc. i just look at them in stores and online ,try them on .if they fit I get them. Cool forum.

I would recommend Zatiny 8AT, cause this is one of the best seller for Diesel.

But Unfortunately, they are stop making them... don't miss your chance to get them, before they are sold out :)
