HEDI-NG OVER?: There's yet more buzz about the future of former Dior Homme creative director Hedi Slimane. Rumors of his dramatic return to the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton family after talks with chairman Bernard Arnault, or of an undefined collaboration with Diesel's Renzo Rosso, surfaced in December. Now, it seems, Diesel may be preparing to launch a Red Collection to be designed by Slimane. Although Diesel's Milan headquarters could not be reached for comment due to the May Day holiday, a collaboration with Slimane would fit in with Rosso's modus operandi. This year, Rosso launched the Diesel Black Gold collection to provide a more sophisticated option for his customer.

That'd be pretty awesome...Slimane for Diesel.

Still, nothing can really beat Slimane for Dior.

diesel isnt slimanes style

and he's "too good" for diesel anyway. i love both hedi and diesel, but i dont think they would mix well

the "red" collection may just be another branch of diesel like black gold is. for all we know it could be a completely new look

Actually if you look at the black gold collection, it's very gothic, very dark. I can see Slimane doing great things for black gold if that ever did happen.

Nothing a big, fat check can't fix.

Like Angel pointed out, Black Gold is pretty much in line with the rest of the progressive-urbanite fashion world far as creative direction is concerned, so Slimane x Diesel isn't really that far-fetched.

^tokyo, new york, LA, chicago(hopefully), paris, maybe london? Ya know, the usual places..

Personally, from what I've seen, the black gold label doesn't seem to be of the standard for Slimane. Sure, anything could happen, but I figure Diesel would try to expand the DDG line with Slimane before black gold

Locations are obvious, but you can't sell slimane stuff in a regular Diesel store.

They sell DDG stuff in some non-DDG stores, correct? I think the locations are what's important in this sense- I could see it in regular Diesel stores for key cities that don't have DDG-specific stores.

its also worth mentioning that hedi was never going to design for diesel directly. the deal would have been for his own line under renzo's staff international. so basically slimane would have produced his own line for the group, similar to what martin margiela and dsquared do for staff.
