I am sure there is alot worse places than Fresno. It took me a LONG time to learn this, but it really doesn't matter where you are it is more about WHO you are. You can move anywhere you want to in this world anyway, what is keeping you there if you hate it so much? I moved to S.F. when I was 18, just out of high-school.

You did? Yes, I, too, ran off to S.F. as soon as I possibly could after school. I'd wanted to be here ever since I was 12, ever since my mom's stepmother said, very judgmentally, "Oh, in SF, the queers are coming out of the walls!" I *very much* dislike my mom's stepmother (and always have), and immediately thought, wow, if she hates SF that much, it must be the place for me! And here I still am.

But you're right, twyla, and I didn't mean to sound so judgmental about Fresno. I just know that csirip is still young, and would probably have a more exciting time in a much bigger place, where there's a lot of good fashion, music, art scene, etc. going on.

I do agree. I recommend all kids go to a big city to experience "life". I am SOOO glad I did. My life changed forever and I would never trade my 5 years in a big city for anything. I miss the culture, food, people, etc. but my life is really different now. Kids, marriage etc. small town is good now, maybe big city again someday, or fun to visit!!

ONE MORE YEAR! I CANT WAIT! CURRENT GOALS:

1. get good grades so i can transfer
2. get into a good school in SF/LA/NY
3. get the fuck out of fresno and away from my psychotic family
4. find a non-ugly sugardaddy that will prevent me from going into severe debt (due to unfortunate spending habits)
5. get good grades
6. get a good job

and of course, making new friends and having an assload of fun in between goals 1-6!

Yes - they are both from dressing rooms. I was shopping all weekend.

lol and here's the obligatory ass shot, lol don't ask me why I'm holding a plastic sword, alot of alcohol was inolved. We started drinking around 3:30 that day.

csirip you can and WILL do all these things, if you want to, i guarantee it. oh, and i swear, life gets better as you go on, and find the space to develop your own identity, once you get away from your family and no longer feel so directly pressured by them. eventually, you might even be able to reconnect with them as adults, but it takes time and years.
