What shoes do you wear with your Zathans?

I've been Zathanized and I'd like to see what shoes/boots you wear with your Zathans. Most of the shoes I have now don't fit well with the cut.

I'm wearing these Clae Garvey's in "Sand":

Zathan = Bootcut ( Even a BIG bootcut )
Bootcut jeans = Intended for boots, as its name implies...

Forget zathan and try trouleg, since trouleg has a smaller leg opening ( Called "trumpet" ), so you should have more options in terms of footwear...

Bollocks...

You don't *have* to wear boots, but imo it does look better if the footwear has a low profile and is not too chunky or round toed.

I'd recommend shoes by swear and Nanny state, personally.

I'd also say that you have less shoe options with the Trouleg...

These are what I am currently wearing with mine, I picked the up at Journey's. Most people here are probably going to neg these but I find them to be a great spring/summer sneaker. Real Comfortable

Rainbow Sandals...

I just love the slimness of Pumas. I need a slim boot but have no idea where to begin searching.

I wore diesel shoes similar to the ones posted (remy) for the first year or so I wore diesels and think most of their shoes are very decent quality and look pretty good- no negging from me on those shoes- my friend has them and I think the grommets look pretty sweet. I dont wear much bootcut anymore though, and those aren't slim enough for thanaz and the like. Ive been looking at " swear" recently also- they have tons of styles with a thin sole and modern design for about $150-$200. If you're cool spending that, I'd definitely second (third?) the call to check em out.

Edit- hope your zathans fit better than the ones in the picture you posted

im glad someone else on here actually doesnt mind diesel's shoes. and yeah, i really like the grommets, i think they make the shoe. i checked into those 'swear' shoes because i was curious, they seemed alright but judging from the pictures a lot of them looked kind of like pointy toed chucks. dont think i was a fan. maybe i was looking at the wrong styles though.

alot of them do look like point-toed chucks, but there's some that are cool and unique. i understand how they're kinda a different look though. i think onitsuka tiger tai chi's look pretty sweet with (well-fitted) zathans, as do shoes similar in shape.

personally, i'm not crazy about the look of boots with zathans- i think that look is way old-school and cowboyish. for people who can pull them off well and get decent boots, i think they look great with slimmer, straight-leg diesels.

the only guy I've ever seen IRL that looked neat in zathans used to wear chucks or vans era

and please no sportswear..plz

With my Zathans I wear boots, chucks or loafers usually. I have some Diesel shoes but don't really wear them too much. Most of Diesel's shoes are too sporty for my taste.

Swear/NS sneakers with zathans ? Jeeez... Well, each his own...

Less shoe options with troulegs ??? Exlpain that ! Even if i think it's impossible to find a sensible explanation...

I'm a boots guy and I love wearing them with my Frye boots or my Bostonian/Aldo one. Sometimes with my darker wash I'll wear them with my white Penguins.
^just out of curiousity, what syle of penguins do you own?

Zathans are bootcut...but other cuts look better with boots anyway. Why even buy them in the first place?

Because people have problems to split up with "classical stuff" !?
Because they don't have the balls to try something new !?
Because they won't give in and are bone-headed !?
Because they cling to the past !?
I don't know...
The best example for their mulishness are comments like "I'd also say that you have less shoe options with the Trouleg" and the fact that they negg my post, only because i've produced FACTS !

Well, each his own =)

^haha tee many of the greatest minds in the world were criticized for their words of truth...

and i do agree with you on having more options with trouleg...i feel like i can wear almost every piece of footwear i own with mine. although i still love my zathans though as much as the trouleg just because i like the feel and the fact that bootcut is still fairly popular in my location of northeast ohio

I personally don't like Zathans with sneakers, only with shoes or boots.

Yes exactly. Funny that a guy for whom english is a second or even third language can express this so well.

That explains a lot.

You could always be the guy that brings the new trend (ie what the coasts have been doing for 2 years now) to Ohio...bootcut is trash
post #24 of 158
personally i like bootcut with any form of footwear.

what i don't like with the straight legs is that with the shoes from the side view they look so long and just don't look right. and if you have any form of high cut shoes (unless slim) won't fit over the tongue, so the bottom of the jeans just bunches up. i think that looks terrible. but again, this is just my opinion.

I mostly wear Zathans with Nike shox, once in a while with boots.
I can't seem to pull off straight-leg cuts with sneakers. Makes my feet look too big.
