Mall Cleaning Yes I'm bringing it up AGAIN!!

We need some maintenance on the mall...here's an example:

Check this one....

Okay now that I just looked back it looks like some stuff is getting cleaned better(not sure if its the sellers or someone else?), but there are members who aren't even bumping their mall listings but other people comment on them and they get bumped anyways.

Maybe I missed a thread about how you you guys have decided to clean this or whatever

That must be frustrating I don't understand why you would list something and not check up on it.

I agree with you...

There are multiple listings that say "No Longer Available" in the title or in the comments section. I realize that is our responsibility as sellers to mark these as sold but for members who haven't done it or signed in for over a month, I think their stuff should be removed.

I know I was looking at my size range then listed as price lowest to highest and there were a TON of listings that were still there but "no longer available"....why not just mark them as sold and get them out of there? GRRR....

this is indeed annoying, but what bothers me the most is when people abuse tags. if i'm searching for something, i don't want to see items completely unrelated like shirts

I have been going through every week cleaning out as many as i can and i have even put up notices in the mall asking people to please edit and use the sold button, its not the mods jobs to edit members listings to sold, its the sellers themselves, its much easier to click the sold button than it is to change the title to no longer available. If listings arent bumped for ages it doesnt always mean its sold, we dont know if its sold or not, the member could be away, who knows, if the mall mods are not told items or sold an sellers dont mark them as sold, we cant do anything about it.
Im going to put another notice up, it frustrates me as much as it does you lot that the sold button isnt always used, props to those who use it though

Ok I've just gone through the mall and removed 3 pages worth of sold/returned/no longer available/traded listings, that should have cleared it up, if you guys find any more i have missed please let me know
I've also put up a notice.

Due to the fact that HF is tracking HM sales, I only mark items as sold if they are sold in the HM. If the item is sold elsewhere, I change the title to "No Longer Available" since marking them as sold will skew the true HM statistics.

^^ That doesnt really make a difference, if the item is sold then please use the sold feature

^^Exactly, or just change the title to "not available" THEN make them SOLD and out of the mall.....

I expect users to clean their crap themselves, I didn't mean to make this a rant thread about mods not cleaning the mall. Its a rant about people leaving their crap around for other people to clean up.

So clean up your own listings PEOPLE!!

oh I thought my rant was over, now it is.

AND THANK YOU LORNA!!

Thanks for clarifying about items sold elsewhere.

If this doesn't make a difference, then how are mall statistics being generated?
I doubt the mall statistics matter

who cares, if you have a messy mall would you care more about statistics?

By how much is listed in the mall

We can generate how much was sold, but that's obviously a little less accurate. Generally, we are more interested in how much is currently listed in the mall.
If you are interested in an item its better to PM the seller instead of posting on their thread because they might not check their sales often or might not notice someone has posted on their sale thread.
Okay well there was a thread awhile ago where it was recommended to mark them no longer available (if sold elsewhere)and I am sure that is why people are doing it
post #19 of 29
yeh i think it counts by what is listed in the mall, but if you want you can always change your title to sold elsewhere then click sold but i dont really think it makes much difference the stats arent accurate anyway its just rough since alot of people may sell cheaper than what their listings say anyway
post #20 of 29
You could change the price to 0.00 and then click sold, that way the end price won't go into the stats
post #21 of 29
thank you guys for bringing this up. I think we need a "Remove" or "delete" button so people can remove their listings.

and yea, if people don't take care of their listings we will have to setup some system to have them lose points or eventually selling privileges
post #22 of 29
remove button would be great, but I dont think Id want it completely removed from the site in case any disputes erupt..

How about "Sold Elsewhere" ?

You could have us discreetly put in how much we did sell it for (but not so that it shows up anywhere other than the mods to see it?) then have a open button that we fill in that will move it out of the mall and you can even ask us to specify where we sold it at if needed

Maybe make the sold button move us to another page where we fill out information for mall statistics...something like that?
