And wuts the weather like in August over there?

I'm staying at the Travel Lodge on Michigan. It's a dive, but it's cheap, right across from Grant Park (like a 5-10 minute walk), and some of the rooms have mini-kitchens in them.

The weather is hot, sunny, and humid. Plan on wearing tank tops and shorts.

We booked the Silversmith on SouthWashburn last night. About 6 blocks away on the map from Grant Park. Travelodge was completely sold out...

I thought being close to the lake would make it a bit breezy, but oh well, we'll still have fun

Ha, I know that guy that owns that hotel and the parking lot across from it. lol, it IS a dive hotel and the funny thing is that they re-did it not too long ago. He has been offered millions from like Hotels.com and those sites to work with them, but he says no I want to keep all the money.

For the location though, you can't beat the room prices... the food in the restaurant is descent too.
