I confess I may have been under the influence of controlled substances when I was researching potential hotels for my party.

Although I still like the idea... I just can't find a penthouse or a proper suite that will fit everyone comfortably on my budget.

Oh, and everyone in this thread is invited if they happen to be in town on that weekend (to be announced).

Mkay, so update:::
(keep in mind the unemployed/student aspect)

I have like $1000 in my savings in general. I might get $600 from my grandparents (they offer to pay a service for me or give me the cash), and I might make like $200 from eBay. Plus, I have grades coming and my parents bribe me to do well. I really, really want to go to Spain with $2200... That way, I can spend $1200 and have $1000 left for when I get back.. Geez, I hope everthing sells.

Spain is a pretty cheap place to go in Europe especially compared to London. That's more than enough money to have a good time

I just like to be prepared

I confess that I bought sfam dojo crops for $50 shipped. It was a little bit more expensive than I wanted to pay, but it's like 100 degrees out and I need some cute shorts to wear. Plus, I sold 2 pairs of jeans already. I know, I'm a horrible ban breaker, but I think they were a pretty good deal.

Has anyone bought pens off of ebay? I have this one brand that I really, really like, and I wanted to stock up! They're kind of expensive in store, like $8 for one package! Arg, I really hate the economy, it's so crummy and prices anre unbelievable nowadays.

edit: BIN for $9.99 w/best offer (wtf?) and $1 shipping... I offered $8 just to see what would happen!

Yes... well.. it was so tempting!! I think I'll only keep one of the two pairs, either the crowns or the sigs. I think I need to sell my Norway A Pockets too... They're just a smidge too small for me. And I need to sell my backup pair of Pixis... It's ridiculous to have 2 pairs of the same thing in the same wash, no?

Hmmmmmmmmmm (stares dissaprovingly)

But I did sart my new job! It's not bad at all. $8 per hour, plus $5 per mini review (I can do like 4 per hour if I actually try to work), plus free lunch.

and lots of frowning... since a majority of fake stuff gets channeled through HK, Shenzen, and the gongbei market (border of macau and Zhuhai).

I personally would stay far far far away from Guangzhou, the air is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad, you think LA's smog is bad, Guangzhou makes it 100x worst.

When you are over there though, travel to Yangshuo for a weekend (it's next to Guilin), it's quite awesome out there and you stay away from the big city that Guilin is becoming. In Yangshuo, you can rent mt bike for less than $2 a day (circa 2004) and rent a kayak tour (sorta) for $15. Rooms were $5-8 (we stayed at Lisa's, which was recommended on Lonely planet).

HK is nice too, but in places, it's almost on par to the US as far as price for alcohol and food (Soho, etc...)

oops, I thought this was a thread regarding jean ban... MY BAD.
