true. i actually think he's one of the best dressed designers. i think a lot of times designers put on the most random/ugly shit because they feel they have the right as designers. or maybe i just don't understand lol

and he actually dresses close to the looks he puts on the runway, which is rare (at least in my limited scope).

LULZ! black t-shirt, black blazer, blue jeans. i think he is Simon Cowell's personal stylist

hedi actually dresses very 'normal' for a designer. sure he wears a lot of his own stuff, but if you saw him on the street you would just think he was a normal dude, which is in line with some of his runway stylings but not all of them. i think it speaks to the real-life wearability of a lot of his dior pieces.
^yup very true

i wouldn't think those gold boots from f/w '05 were very wearable but he pulls it off on the last page. (who was the designer of those gold boots we saw in Politix again?) i think s/s '05 was fuckin' awesome and the denim/blazers in that collection were very wearable.

i really like SS 05' collection.

jude's dior/boot combo is stunning.
i've said it before, but jude is the best dressed celeb of all time imo, and he doesn't even have a stylist. dude is SERIOUSLY into fashion and clothings, as much as or moreso than those of us here and on sufu and other forums and such.
^agreed

but would someone here dressed like that get a lot of +? for some reason i don't think so. i think people give celebs a lot of leeway in regards to fashion.

personally i wouldn't wear a crisp white button up like that with that jean/boot combo, but the jean/boot combo itself is nice. and not sure what he was trying to do w/ the half-tuck either. but i love most of his fits most of the time which is why i keep up w/ him.

james, i saw you mention Jude usually rocks ccp or guidi boots. I'm having trouble finding these specifically. Are there any particular sites you'd recommend?
^if you're a stylezeitgeist member i'm sure they could help you tons
post #512 of 5541
there are 2 places to get them in the usa, and neither has a webstore. atlier in ny and maxfield in la. other than that you neecd to use a proxy and get from japan, which is actually what jude usually does. expect to spend around $1700 retail for a pair like that.

i was actually at maxfiels this week and though they didn't have those particular boots its the most amazing place on the planet.
alright, i might have to check out atlier even though spending over a G on boots is a bit too balling for me at the moment.
james i'm going to have to check out maxfields when i actually have a job. celeb style lol.
you don't have to be loaded to go check it out. its worth seeing even if you don't buy anything. i picked up a scarf there just for the hell of it, and that was only $150. they had some t's in the $200 range by a few japanese designers too, so not everything there is $1K or more like some believe.
^i hope one day i can k0p $150 accessories just for the hell of it

I went to Atelier last week. They have some really sick stuff. As far as shoes, I looked at some ccp's and guidi, they are built in a manner that is second to none. But my favorite was definitely the Augusta Cordovan boots. They came in some sick colors, including a whitish grey that looks amazing in person. Everything in the store except for shoes and leather jackets was 40% off. And the ccp leather jackets are sick too. But all I bout was some ugo and laura b. jewelry. : (

i actually kinda agree. its not one of his better outfits. the tuck and buttoning of the shirt looks bad to me and i don't like the way the jeans tuck into the boots like he has them. if he undid a few buttons, untucked, and let the jeans fall over the boots it would be a lot better.

that coat he is holding is fucking sick though. the taped seam tells me it is ccp.
^ if he un-tucked the shirt ur right problem solved
post #521 of 5541
james and jill agreeing on something = +1's all around

Someday you guys will grow up and realize that button up shirts are made to be tucked in... unless, of course, you want to look like a sloppy fratboy!
the button-ups i buy are definitely not made to be tucked, quite the opposite. i think with jeans they should be left out most of the time to maintain a casual look. tucking a shirt into jeans is almost like wearing a tie with jeans in my book. there are certainly exceptions and times when it looks great to tuck though, and some pull it off better than others. but for the record, i don't think its ever ok to button all the way to the top with jeans, nor is it ever ok to wear a tie with jeans.

I've heard you say that about ties before, and I tend to disagree. Skinny ties go well with nice jeans imo. It gives a sort of edge to an otherwise plain button up look. Of course it has to be the right denim for sure... a dark indigo or black can be dressed up nicely.
To each their own, and as you said some people pull it off better than others.

advancedart posted a nice pic of a black button up tucked into thanaz 8aa. it worked IMO but IIRC he needed to lose the undershirt.
