Just curious, at what point were you unable to get them on, your thighs?

Im in between getting a 31 and 32, my Diesel size is 30 or 31 depending on the wash/cut. I usually dont like things to be TOO tight, but I keep seeing stretched measurements for 32 MIJ Raws reaching 17.5 inches in the waist and 12 inches in the thigh, which seems awfully big to me for it to be the 'correct' size for me. But then I see a post like that that makes me weary of going a size down, especially given I dont like my jeans to be ridiculously tight.

Which cuts do you usually wear in diesel? (sh0ebox and dizzyD99)

Ok well I'm basically a 27 in diesel (Trouleg 8IT in a 27 fits me very snugly.. slightly tight brand new... limits my mobility a decent amount... but they would probably stretch out comfortably --- same goes for 8HL in Trouleg and my Safado 8AA are 27s as well).

The 27s in the 19cm MIJ Raw Indigo were extremely tight all over. I couldn't manage to pull them up any higher after about halfway up my thighs. Also, the calf area was really tight as well. Like... they almost adhered to my leg so that I had a decent amount of trouble pulling the extra length of the pant legs up.

They didn't have a 28 in the 19cms but they did in the 21cm so I tried those on. They fit quite nicely... just a tiny bit tight on the waist area but that's what's expected. I felt like they could have been just a bit tighter in the thigh area though... but I don't know if that's just a characteristic of the 21cm fit or not, but I found that size to fit me pretty well... which in diesel a 28 is more of a relaxed fit for me (a tiny bit looser than ideal)


ETA: Exhausted... I have mostly Zathan, one pair of Zatiny, one pair of Rabox, and one pair of Safados. But most of them are a bit big on me as I've just recently discovered HF and am now truly finding out my size lol. My Zathan 82Ms are a 28x30 and fit me pretty nicely, but I'm sure I could size down one fro "HF approved" fit. Safado 8AA are 27x30 and are pretty snug all around... and I've tried on a few pairs of Trouleg which have all fit me great in 27x30 (except for 8EU, which I could have worn a 26x30.. really weird cuz 8HL and 8IT as stated above were very very snug in 27s)

Yikes maybe I should stick with the suggested method and get a 32 then.

I wear Zathans in 31 and sometimes 30 (I had a pair of 71Js in 30s and I couldnt imagine going a size smaller), Vikers I wear 30 or 31 depending on the wash, and I only have 8DK in Safado and a 30 fits me perfectly. Whats deceiving to me is I feel like Ive owned a high percentage of washes you are supposed to size down in, so maybe I am more of a true Diesel 31.

I should probably just get 32s, I dont prefer my jeans extra tight and a 16.5 inch unstretched waist might sound about right assuming Im wearing them a bit low and they will stretch .5-1 inch in the waist.

yeah i was thinking the same thing about the whole stretch wash thing haha --- my Safados are stretch wash, the Trouleg 8HL are also stretch, and my Zatiny 8FC which i own in a 29x30 are stretch and i could probably size down 2 in those (bought them before i found HF). However my 82Ms aren't stretch and are a tiny bit loose in 28 but are also an older model so i don't know how they compare.

But yeah just measure your best fitting jeans (safado 8dk from what it sounds like) at the waist and in the thigh to determine the best Dior size for you. And consider the measurements of the Diors are pre-soak i believe so they will shrink a little after soaking (but will also stretch out an inch or so)

Yeah I think I am gonna go for the 32s after all. When do people usually soak them for the first time?

From what I've read, some recommend soaking them before wearing initially to shrink them so that your whiskers/honeycombs/distressing are uniform and do not change after you wear them and decide to soak them for the first time, causing them to shrink (assuming you soak them in hot water). But i've been wondering the same thing --- what did all you owners do when you got yours? soak first or wear first?

^ soaking before wearing is only for unsanforized denim. Dior is sanforized and there won't be much shrinkage after washing, so you don't need to worry about fades moving.

If you wash before wearing you will just lose indigo.

Skidder, I sent an e-mail to eluxury about the 21cms to ask them to double check where they were made, and here was the service rep's response:

"The Dior Brut Denim Jeans in the traditional 21 cm style are very popular, and I certainly understand your interest. I have accessed the product information provided by Dior, and Italy is listed as the production country. A few styles from the Spring 2008 denim collection, such as the Sheer denim, were made in Japan, so they do produce some styles there. However, the Brut style is listed as an item made in Italy.

If I may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me."

So do they just have it wrong in their system? I even specifically mentioned that the MSRP of the MIJ is the price they have the Bruts listed at.
Even after this email, I am still inclined to believe you because I know you follow the Diors pretty closely, and I know people on SUFU must have ordered these before given its the only US online retailer to buy 21cms raws from.

^Bro, I honestly think eluxury just doesn't know dick about the products they sell. Ask them to check the tags.

the customer service people don't have any more info about the products than we can see online at all. and they are not in the same location as the warehouse so they cannot and will not check the tag. just trust that they are mij.

i guess i must have dreamed these up then...

jskidder got bashed at the time where he just started posting pics on SuFu as you clearly linked where he did. I don't believe he got neg repped for anything else other than the links above and some of his WAYWT pics. Not everyone's gonna like what you wear 'cause everyone has their own opinion on things. I see many people on there who has their rep bar all green to the max and some still get bashed for what they wear.

His knowledge is very informative and helpful which is why his rep bar is dark green now, plus some of his outfits. It takes a lot of time for your reputation to grow on there. It's not like HF where you make some stupid joke and you're automatically liked. Although jskidder could be an asshat sometimes, I'm really glad that he's a mod on here 'cause he knows his stuff, otherwise things would go wrong.

that first fit is real good, but the angle is deceiving. look where the pockets hit, they are definitely lower than they appear in the pic.

the second fit is so-so. too droopy for me but it definitely works for that dude.

last fit is fucking terrible.

i actually just got back from dh in beverly hills. the clawmarks in 27 are probably the best fitting diors i tried so far. probably going to grab them when i'm back later. the rtw is just blah, not even worth sale prices for most stuff.

I went for the 21 cms in 31s... hopefully I wont have to return them, I doubt I will. Im so pumped.

K, I know that you're suppose to stay with the same size as your MIJ Raw for the MII washed. But since the SS08 UMC jeans are 98/2, should I size down?
