ok i understand now. thanks. people here are very friendly. other forums i might get scolded for not reading the thread thoroughly first.

1 more Q. is 1 size a very big difference? i tried size 30 MIJ raw. i believe i can wear a 29.but should i buy a 28 cause it stretch over the time?
Depends: Raws stretch more than washed ones. And yes one size can be a big difference.

Best bet for a pair of raws is to buy it in a size where you can hardly do the top clasp and the hip and thigh area is very tight, almost uncomfortable. They will then stretch out to a slim overall look. Same goes for most washed MIIs. If you have a pair in your hands, you should be able to guess the amount it will stretch, if you are experienced with denim.

My experience is that most MIIs and MIJ raws tend to stretch a lot (around one size, depending on how tight they are initially), idk about washed MIJs though, but it is said that they stretch less.

I am about to buy my first pair of washed MIJ Diors. If I do so, I will report about stretching.

I know that it was high, just couldn't believe it was this high. If it was so be it, my apologies. I in fact own about 10 pairs of diors, but have never been to a store, since there is none around here in Switzerland, next one would be Paris, thanks for asking.

@Witzleben: I have a pair of MiJ Clawmarks in 28 (just like all my other diors), preowned. I believe the previous owner has worn it quite a bit, but not washed. They're in great condition, and the denim seems good (but does not appear generally superior to other MiI DHs I own). Anyways, the thighs and the waist have stretched out a good bit, I think I'll have it washed soon to get it the original fit back.

word

as per my experience
I onw a pair of washed MII
when I bought them hips were VERY tight
and top clasp was very hard to do

now (about three weaks of constanst wearing), they stretched like mofos, really
even a little tad more than i wanted, probably

Well they wouldn't have as much if they were "bigger" to start with ... I'm just saying no need to overdo it with washed pairs. Depends on the denim of course, too. Plus wearing a pair for 3 weeks straight is gonna stretch the shit out of most.

Word: tighter -> more tension -> more stretch.

Poeple sometimes seem to forget, that 19cm is a slim fit not a skinny one. Even the MIJ arent as skinny as Thanaz for example. Maybe if one has a tiny waist and hip area, it is possible to wear them very tight. But for normal slim builds, those cuts arent skinny.

^Aldo: I am thinking about buying the Waxing Moons. I am still not 100% decided as they are still pretty expensive and I am not too sure if I really like the texture of the coating and how it will turn out with wear. Pictures I have seen are promising though. And yep, I will probarbly do some WAYWTs soon (of my new washed MIIs as well).
And I almost forgot: I once owned a pair of MIJ Clawmarks as well.

C_Troy: Are you a member at ML.de, btw?
And there are differences between MIJ and MII pairs. e.g. the MIJ pairs normaly have chainstitched legopenings, MIIs dont have that feature. I am not too sure about denim quality in general, as I own too few pairs myself to be able to judge and denim quality varies a lot even between different MII washes.

yeah I agree, 19cm is definetely not a skinny cut

Sure am. And I never said there was no difference between MiI and MiJ pairs, although I didn't particularly know about chainstitched hems. And you're absolutely right about Dior Homme 19cms not being especially skinny, they are in fact not skinny at all, unless you have huge thighs and calves. Even the 17.5cm model isn't really that skinny.

Yeah, not to be compared with April 77 aka Gayprils.
not to be compared with Cheap Mondays aka Crap Mondays either
post #2262 of 5251
Also not to be compared with Dr. Denim aka ... you guys come up with something!

And I never said that you said that And I myself admitted, that I only heard that denim quality is better with the MIJ pairs... But to get back to that topic for the last time, my experience from Diesel and their few japanese denim washes is, that japanese denim is or at least can be different (better?) from other denim. e.g. features are slobbiness, tighter woven denim or different thickness of front- and back-thread.

Just for the fun: Have a look at the inner stitching at the legopening and compare MIJ and MII. If the MIJ are unhemmed they should have a stitching like other japanese brands (Skulls and the like), which is different from the simple stitching of most or all (idk) MII pairs.

Btw. I still dont get why Diesel and Dior dont have that feature (as well as the selvagde) on all their cuts, hey even Nudies have it.
I think that mainly applies to raw denims. You're totally right with the stitching, never caught my eye, I'm not really the denim specialist anyhow.

Here is my last purchase. Dawn Of An Era 19cm, pretty average everyday wash. Just what I needed. Shots arent of good quality, though.

i dont know how to offer. still thinking. waxed pair like not for everyday.
What are you thinking about? If he declines, you can offer again, or not? Anyways, I can tell you he's not gonna let it go for under 450, so I'd try that.

arg its sold. i gonna get a waxed pair soon. anyone know if waxed stretches less?
They do take more time to stretch, that's for sure. Washed pairs generally don't stretch that much, but some can, especially when being worn everyday.
My nightfalls (lightly waxed) have stretched a fair amount less than my UMC '09, both size 28, 17.5cm, and 98% cotton/2% elasthane.

I would guess and say that waxed pairs probably stretch a bit less in general due to their nature. I've had my Night falls for quite a bit longer than my UMC but they refuse to stretch any more than they have done up to this point, it seems.
