To buy or not to buy?

ARG! I can't decide wether or not to buy this bag! So, I've got some store credit to use up, and it'd be about $300 give or take. I've sold some stuff on ebay, so I'd only need to save like $100 more to get it. Thing is, I've never spent this much on a purse before, and I don't think I really need it.

But, the more I look at it, the more it grows on me! I think it'd be a great investment since I could use it forever. It's totally me and I love the idea of treating myself to a expensive purse.


The only other thing is that I'm going on a (6 week) trip to Europe this summer, and I don't know if I should put the $300 into my spending money account for then. BUT! I know that I will ONLY spend money on food/going out for food in Europe (I hate shopping for clothes and things in person). It's only March, so maybe this could be my last huzzah before saving?

...I should also note that I alreadyhave have a nice nest egg for Europe thus far (50% of my total goal).

Sorry Nat, on this specific bag, I vote no also.

BUT, I do support your idea of making your first big bag purchase, esp. since you've never bought one like this before. If you've got store credit to use and only need another $100, I say do it! That's what, a pair of jeans that you can pass up?

I keep trying to push myself up from Coach and buying a Gucci or LV bag but I'm in your position now... I just can't justify spending $500+ on a bag at this point in my life.

my 28 yr old sis in law (who is a school teacher) just bought this in the signature pattern...so yeah i think its a bit too old for you!

what about something like these? they more age appropriate imo!

^ I'm not a huge fan of anything that's signature. The only coach I like are the leather designs. 'Cept... I really liked that one pattern that was creme with the psuedo plaid type design? Tatt something? I like the bag itself because it's kind of retro... Eh, most people don't share my sense of style, so that's okay, I guess.

I wouldn't do it, babe. It's a plain black bag and for that price you could get a more high-end designer bag on eBay or here with a little more character / fits your personality.

Secondly, you gotta remember your savings will be cut anywhere from 20% to 50% depending on the exchange rate so I would put as much in as you can. You will be much happier you did when you have to spend $8 just to get Starbucks!

I would have said YES to the bag if you really like it. Higherend bags are a tricky thing to buy, if you find the right one that YOU absolutely love it's always the right thing to do.

BUT, since you're going on a trip to Europe I would say to save the money and get the most out of your trip! It's the worst thing to have no extra cash when you're vacation. BTW which countries are you visiting? I went to London, Paris and Germany about 2 summers ago and had an absolute blast! =)

Good point. You don't need the bag at the moment or even for your trip so just wait until you get back to use your credit. I would suggest looking for a different style though if you decide to use the credit toward a bag.
