Flathead 3007 pics and measurements.

Had a small little package in the mail today from Self Edge.

Before soaking I wanted to measure them and try them on.
For reference I wear a 31 in Diesel Zathan. My true waist is somewhere between a 32 and a 33. I initially ordered these in size 33 and sent them back because for some odd reason size 33 measured 32..

This particular cut from flathead closely resembles the Diesel Zathan cut.

PRE-SOAK MEASUREMENTS:
size 34
waist - 17
inseam - 36
front rise - 11
back rise - 14
hem - 10.5

thigh - 10.6
knee - 9

Im going to hot soak these tomorrow for an hour and post new measurements and fit pics once they dry. Just wanted to get this up for anyone who is interested in bootcut raws.

POST SOAK
these were soaked for about 3 hours in hot water.
Waist - 16.3
inseam - 33
Front Rise - 10.5
back rise - 13.5
Leg opening - 10
Thigh - 10.1
knee - 8.2

At first these were extremely tight to put on. It may have to do with how rigid the denim is or just how much it shrank in the waist area. I did measure them to be about 16 inches across before trying them on. I think I actually stretched them a little putting them on.. hehe

Overall Im happy with how they came out

i would soak for more than an hour to get as much shrinkage out as possible

I've now shrunk up 7 pairs of raw jeans and I've found that hot soaks really get out the shrinkage QUICKLY. My samurai S5000VX I hot soaked for MAYBE 50 minutes and have since washed 4 times or so and they cycle between shrink and stretch but they never shrink more than they did that first time.

I had to call the store and ask. Kiya said he had them in every size.. I will edit with thigh measurements. So.. Hot soak for 2 hours? I was thinking of hot soaking for 1 hour and at 30 minutes dumping a boiling pot in to keep it hot.

The denim is the best thing I have ever felt. It smells of indigo.

and even trying them on, my socks have a blue tinge to them.. haha

kiya told me you could order the f310 through the website and in the comments box put that you want the 3007 instead..since they're the same price

I want to mention that the denim itself is VERY stiff. It felt like I was wearing cardboard pants!

nice! They do feel like cardboard dont they? Curious to see the post soak fit

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up

What makes you decide to soak them or not?
^if the denim is unsanforized you need to soak them. sanforized denim = no soak.

Thanks James.

These are unsanforized so they will get soaked tonight. Denim smells like ink? Ever break a pen and it has that odd smell? I guess that's the best way to describe it. Really unlike anything I have smelled before.

Did you soak these yet? Curious to see how they came out.

I did and they are hang drying at the moment. I did some quick measurements, they lost about an inch in the wasit and 3 inches in the inseam. I will post new measurements and worn pics soon...
