Question for those with Frye boots

So, I have decided to get a pair of brown Frye Harness 12R boots. Any suggestions on sizing? I looked at the reviews on Zappos and they were mixed. Some said go down 1/2 a size, but many said to stick with your normal size. I usually wear an 8.5 in all my shoes (unless I find some freakishly stretchy/loose ballet flats). I am unsure what I should get.

I know they take a while to break in. Right now, Zappos is all out of my size, but I want to be ready for when they get more in so I can snatch them up!

So you didn't go with the Justin's?
I had a pair of Frye's that were TTS to 1/2 a size small but I just gave them to Goodwill because they were so darn stiff I couldn't really walk in them. That was OK when i spent endless hours sitting around in bars, but now that I have a baby my shoes need to be stylish BUT comfortable. I know you'll have a little one soon, too, so I thought I'd mention this. Then again, mine were a different model with a square toe.

Ooooh.....good to know. Yeah, I liked a few pair of Justin's, but my hubbie is so not in to cowboy boots, so I thought these would be a happy medium and I have admired them on alot of people. I am all about comfort.....I wonder how long they would take to break in......

i say size down 1/2 a size. i have very wide feet so i was a little worried about doing that, but they fit perfectly and have molded to my feet

I sized down 0.5 size in my Harness boots as well... I have wide feet and I was worried at first, but they fit really well!

I wear a 7 in some shoes (although my feet are wide at the toe bed and the 7's are always too tight there) and a 7.5 in other shoes (mostly to allow enough room for the width of my foot, for shoes where a little extra length won't matter). My fryes are all size 7, and fit comfortably. If you wear a true size 8.5 in all of your shoes, sizing down a half size would probably be a good bet.
