What are you opinions on Timmen?

I just bought a pair of Timmen 8IW at the Diesel store. The manager asked me to try them on, so of course I obliged and loved the fit. I didn't really look at them great though until I got home and noticed that the detailing on the crotch (where the stitching goes straight down) and on the front pockets kind of bothered me (how the stiching comes in lower than the pockets. I love the wash and the fit...the back pockets and everything, but don't care for those details and was just wondering what your opinions on it were. I guess I just prefer more of a plain pair of jeans...as far as detailing goes.

i love the crotch detailing on them. its pretty subtle and i don't think most notice it unless they are checking out your package. the pocket bothers me a little just because it makes the opening smaller which makes putting things in and removing things from them more of a chore.

The crotch is definitely hard to notice. I had no idea until my girlfriend pointed it out to me. She snapped a bunch of pictures of them, so hopefully I'll have them up tomorrow. JSkid, where's the Timmen fall into the picture...is it pre-Farco?

timmen is post-farco. it was new for fw06/07, same time that viker and thanaz debuted. its just a very slimmed down version of the lemmen cut. i think timmen fits almost as slim as thanaz, just with a higher rise and slimmer fit in the waist and hips.

Trying on everything, one after another, (Safado, Zatiny, Viker, and Timmen), I thought it was most like viker but slimmer in the leg (below the knee).

I'll definitely post pictures of the 2 pairs I bought today which were viker 72d and timmen 8iw. I'm afraid I may hear the dreaded "size down" from you though. I guess time will tell.

Please post pics.

The Timmen is a favorite cut of mine...and I really think that the details, while certainly noticeable, are just on the borderline between cool and garish...especially when executed in the right wash.

Skidder: thanks for explaining the bit about the pockets...I thought it was just because my Timmen were too tight.

Also...from what I read here and in other threads, I take it that buying your Timmen size in Lemmen will yield much looser results?

bro timmen i one of the greatest and most underrated cuts its wonderfully slim without being too tapered which would cause it to have a limited appeal...the crotch detailing is sick it gets chicks to check out ur package without even realising they're doing it...in short timmen rocks

Timmen and Safado are my favourite straight cuts now. They both have slim straight legs and nice back-pockets (not too loud). I think the cuts are good for those without big/fat thighs.

71J is nice though.
many guys don't like 88S's back pockets. but I like these and its wash.

Timmen is the best cut diesel made already!!! I love most of them and i got 7 pairs already!!! Most other cuts are yust ugly like safado viker and all that other crap

unfortunately in Tampa, everything seems to go well with a Hardy or affliction tshirt- consistently 3-4 years behind from my estimates
