The MacBook Air was somewhat impressive, but the new iPhone features leave something to be desired.

Everyone knew 1.1.3 was coming.

MacBook Air plz.

i guess if you want to spend $1800 on that and another $2000 on a desktop so you can install stuff on the laptop or have to buy an external disk drive which kind of defeats the purpose of portability in the first place
post #6 of 54
ohh that laptop is sooo tiny!!!
I have a desktop already. My laptop is for class.
it would be neat if it had an optical drive

The person who updated that transcript clearly does not know the difference between "signing" and "singing."
that laptop is sweet

i can't wait to see that laptop in the stores. as with the new ipod nano, it'll probably be even more impressive close up.

^^hahahha

the iPhone update has been documented for weeks. There is nothing earth shattering...the multiple SMS, pin drop Google and triangulation GPS are cool but not enough to make me upgrade and lose all my other jailbroken apps. If you use a jailbroken iPhone do not upgrade until a proven hack for 1.1.3 has been released.

Isn't the iTunes Movie Rental a bit of a rip off? Especially when you have things like Netflix...Where you can even get an actualy blu-ray/hd-dvd disk and enjoy it...on a tv.....in hd....

I don't know why they are going back the the Blockbuster days, where everything has to be charged for....24 hours...Come on! That's like the same thing as the infamous late fees...

I think this is for people "on the go."

to watch on ipods, iphones, and laptops..like in subway..buses and cars etc..

It is supposed to be inbetween the MAcbook and Macbook Pro in power and speed...

The price is somewhat justified (as far as Mac portables go)..except no optical drive.
except ram soldered to logic board , except no STERO speaker (for a $2000 notebook.. WOW.. just wow..), except the slowass HD ( oh yeah, forgot the $1000 SSD option.. ), except the non-replace battery.. This list of exceptions can go on and on..

If this notebook is aimed toward buisness user on road, they should have made the battery user replacable, AT LEAST. Come on, quit the fanboyeurism.

there will always be haters...

the new macbook air is a great addition to the line and I think that the lack of an optical drive isn't a big deal. The computer is really for people on the go, and I never carry along a ton of cd's dvd's or other physical media when I'm traveling. time will tell if the market agrees with me though.

the new iphone/touch features were weak and already known, true. i agree that i'm sticking with my earlier firmware so that T-Mobile and my sweet apps are safe.

i'm not a fanboy. you, however, are clearly an anti-apple cultist.

ON EDIT: i've used my optical drive exactly once on my laptop.
