here's a question for the dry denim experts....

if you've worn you nudies or whatever for just a few days, and they've stretched out already, is there any way of shrinking them back so they're tight again? also, if I want to start the wrinkling process again...would ironing press the whiskers and honey comes out? would using an iron do damage to the whole process?

Does anyone starch their dry denim? I've read that it helps bring out and define the wrinkles and creases more-would any of you advise to doing this? It seems like cheating-but if it gives spectactular results, I wouldn't mind trying it.

It's only been a week but I've been sitting a lot on concrete at school

from the nudie site, it is NOT recommended to iron your jeans. i think if you want to "start over" and they are still very fresh, then you could potentially try cold-soaking them and then wearing them to dry. I did this initially to get a better fit and my whiskers and honeycombs were defined very quickly.

Why does it look like the entire denim is completey washed out-what color are those jeans? I dont get it-that picture looks like the jean is inside out?

I'm a true 33" and 29 in non-stretch Zathans, and those are a 27 new standards i'm wearing. They fit nicely now, i just wore them out of the house the whole evening.

I'm a newbie nudie so...what is the purpose of a cold soak? do you do that before you wear them? and are you saying you were wearing some soaking wet jeans?

You don't really need to cold soak your Nudie before you wear it since it's no shrink to fit. Just wear them doing everything and anything. Hopefully you bought them your size so it's nice and tight unlike me.

shwanger, if those will stretch out more like... everywhere, then if you like the look they are great. I don't think they look bad.

PS: your room is a hole... clean it up!

i think i read somewhere in superfuture that they put their nudies in the dryer to shrink them up a bit from the stretching.. but i don't know if that's a good idea or not..

anyways for all your nudies questions, i recommend heading over to that forum and using the search function there, lots of discussion on raw denim there.

I starch lightly and it really helps alot.
Soaking is only for non-sanforized denim, theres really no reason to soak your nudies.
I throw my jeans into the dryer to shrink them. But shrinkage is minimal and they just stretch back after an hour or so

does the dryer doo anything to tre denim? I read someone would put there nudies in the dryer with a scented fabric sheet in the pocket to get rid of smells

They shrink a little bit but they stretch back out pretty fast. I think DLM put his in the dryer with a scented sheet to get rid of the smell. I think just air them when they get smelly

I cold soaked them to bring up the length on the jeans since I did not want a large cuff on them. The jeans are non-sanforized like people on here are saying so they won't shrink very much as far as waist/thigh size goes, but mine actually came up about 2" on the length after a 3 hour soak.

No I didn't wear them soaking wet, I laid them flat to dry on a towel overnight and then in the morning they were damp so I wore them until they were completely dry. Afterwards, I found that the fit was much better for me.

My honeycombs looks like ass since it's too damn baggy

this is quite a nice job at distressing a pair of jeans,

the only thing i don't get is love the fact that my jeans change slowly, and to be honest i'm not even interested in how they turn out after the 'transformation wash'

my imperials just change all the time, and i don't feel like wearing any other jeans. when they get too greasy to stand i may dry clean, or depending on how indigo movement has gone on i will wash.

i like the sugarcane two step,[ wash/indigo fix] i used it on my apcs once and they stayed quite dark.

I find those diesel whiskers unnatural. I dont think Sandpaper-ing your jeans makes the fading look natural

it's fast, i guess. Although i don't see where the fun is anymore if you don't wear them in hard, and by yourself, over a period of time.
