I was at Holt's and I had already dropped $800. Opps...

But I felt like I desperately needed new nail polish. Chanel's selection was subpar and the Bobbi Brown's counter and vicinity was way too busy to even approach. I figured I'd take a look at what NARS had to offer.. Before I know it, I'm walking away with $21 Arabasque nail polish. I got home all happy with my new purchases and new n/p. I give myself a mani and it turns out the polish looks terrible on its own! Hmph... Apparently it's supposed to be paired with NARS Pussy Galore. Way to sucker me into buying more from them.
yeah, don't you hate that? NOT!!!

I can't even walk by or it will be an argument with my hubby! I thought BB's new holiday collection looked so pretty and so is Chanels

I almost always feel bad walking away and feel obligated to buy something because they spent so much time with me matching a foundation or whatever. I know what you mean! I hate it!

The worst is when they say "and today only you get this lovely gift valued at $500 absolutely free with your purchase." grrr that gets me every time.

Lol, now I know where that quote is from... haha

Good thing I'm a guy and don't have to endure the makeup section. But every time I pass by the Nordies grooming section for Men, I always end up buying something damn salespeople!!!

hehe no, $500 was definitely an exaggeration on my part. I find the value is always quoted in the hundreds and all you get is sample size.

I do hate it..but love it at the same time. They always know just the right things to say.

I think they sort of depend on our ignorance (as in, not knowing any better). Like you HAVEEEE to buy this brush or the blush won't work. You can't wear concealer without foundation! You can't wear lipstick without a liner and definately you can't apply it without buying our sharpener and lip brush!

I bought a MAC spray on foundation, wasn't crazy about it, then was told thats bc I had the wrong brush. So I went back, bought the same thing and the brush. $75$ later, still don't like it!

You soooooooo can wear concealer with foundation -- anyone that says that is on crack. As a guy, I refuse to wear foundation because a lot of the times, people don't apply it correctly so it looks pale or caked on, or it isn't right for the season, and all you have to do is get a good concealer that matches your skin tone and blend it in well... not to mention, foundation is soooo 80's and a lot of the times is horrible for your skin.

When I shop and am approached by a salesperson, by default I always say " Just browsing" even when I am really looking for something specific. They will back off and leave you alone.
