What am I suppose to wear in 20 degrees weather!?

So I'm going on a business trip to Montreal, Canada next week. Coming from Atlanta, Georgia (high 30s to low 60s weather today) I don't even know what I'm suppose to wear!? when I checked, it was low 18s, high 25??

what do you "notherners" wear to work? I'm good with shirts/sweater/jacket, but I only have semi-thin dress pants for work. any tips? condoroys?

Probably wear more clothes.


Just layer. And get thermals/tights.

a nice sweater a warm coat maybe scarves and gloves
I usually wear a nice sweater with a shirt underneath and my usual pants and a warm coat but i sometimes wear boots to the office and put my heels on after i'm in the office

Bring a winter coat, scarves, hats and warm sweaters. I would also bring a pair of warm boots ( if you have them) and make sure to layer. In NY, people usually wear a pair of corduroys or even wool pants with a nice sweater.

I'm a Canuck "northerner"... I usually just wear a shirt, some sort of fleece sweater on top plus a coat. Fleece is key because it acts as an amazing insulator. You'll also need a hat, scarf, gloves, and warm boats.

I don't understand the American temperature system, so I say Hawaiian shirt, cargo shorts, and sunglasses.

Get wool pants, scarf, and gloves and you should be alright with what you have, maybe a toque or something for your head if your really not used to it.

I've been to canada in winter - its very cold and all but its not like arctic or anything. If you want to avoid spending a lot of money on clothing you'll only use once, get a fleece like someone else mentioned and some thermal underwear. You'll be able to get away with just the fleece, thermals and maybe a shirt most of the time. Regular jeans with thermals under are VERY warm. Also keep in mind that as soon as you go inside it'll be a lot warmer so dont assume you'll be cold all the time. They LOOOOOOOOOOVE the heating up there hehe

Obviously things like scarves and gloves, hats, etc are helpful also.

hey, Im from canada.. and hell, thats some pretty nice weather in central alberta, so it is probably nicer where your going. basically. all ya need is shorts maybe... capris? and jeans. t shirt? lol its pretty hot
