i think you need a neutral tasting powder when mixing just with fruit...or even a fruity tasting powder
if you just use in tablespoon of powdwer...well...thats only maybe 15-20 grams of protein...you might be able to get away without it...you dont want that powdery after taste
there are powders which are more easily soluble and mixes well with fruits
maybe its just a personal preference
also remember...fruit smoothies are full of sugar..even though they have great nutitional value
if you are watching you weight...be careful on how many smoothies you have...they can be high on calories
